''if everybody stays healthy'' there is no way Markov scores only 36 points. He had 34 last year after playing only 45 games. He'll get 50 at the very least.

36 pts for Markov is only because he won't be back till mid November... and i don't expect him to be ripping it out the first month after he's back!

a Healthy Markov would mean around 55 pts

I think the Habs have the potential to score about 250 goals this year and I would expect the scoring to end up something like this, based on what we have now. (But a lot could change depending on the kind of showing Maxwell and Pacioretty might make).

Cammalleri.... 32 34 66
Plekanec........ 25 40 65
Gomez........... 15 48 63
Gionta............ 31 29 60
Kostitsyn....... 23 23 46
Pouliot........... 21 20 41
Subban.......... 12 29 41
Markov........... 8 30 38
Eller............... 13 15 28
Boyd.............. 12 14 26
Hamrlik........... 5 21 26
Spacek............ 5 19 24
Lapierre.......... 11 12 23
Moen................ 7 8 15
White............... 6 7 13
Gorges............. 2 11 13
Pyatt................ 5 7 12
Gill................... 2 9 11
Darche............. 4 5 9
O'Byrne............ 1 5 6
All others......... 10 25 35

Perhaps, IF you look upon everyone on the roster fairly optimistically. Notice that only 5 teams cracked that number last year (Pittsburgh, San Jose, Chicago, Vancouver, Washington). They (Habs) almost did it 2 years ago, though, so who knows.

Individually your goal numbers didn't look too wack or anything, but collectively... a good upper number, I guess.

Markov has never gotten more than 10 goals without playing at LEAST 70 games. "Other than that", your list is probably one of the more realistic so far.

Hence why I said if he misses no more than 10 games

As for the 14 goals, I genuinely think if he plays with Subban on the PP he'll get to shoot more than he did in the past. Having a great QB like Subban on the other side will help him to score more goals. Of course, I might be wrong, and Markov might be trying to set up Subban. If it's the case, well, Subban will have less assists and more goals, while Markov will have under 10 goals but more assists. I still think their points totals are going to be similar to what I wrote.

It looks like we are close with respect to most guys. I noticed that you used only 19 skaters in calculating your totals while I used more (allocating 10 goals to all others).

My totals for each player roughly correspond to their five year averages (or less for the more inexperienced players). What I didn't take into account is the fact that some players would probably receive less PP time than what they have averaged. Guys like Spacek and Kostitsyn who may have seen time on the 1st PP unit will more than likely be 2nd PP unit players at best.

Given that fact, my numbers may be a little optimistic.

Mike Cammalleri... 38 goals... 34 assists... 72 points
Scott Gomez...... 15 goals... 49 assists... 64 points
Tomas Plekanec... 25 goals... 35 assists... 60 points
Brian Gionta........ 30 goals... 30 assists... 60 points
Andreï Kostitsyn.. 22 goals.... 29 assists... 51 points
Andreï Markov...... 7 goals..... 41 assists... 48 points (roughly 70 games, because of his pre-camp injury)
PK Subban.......... 10 goals.... 28 assists... 38 points
Lars Eller............. 13 goals.... 24 assists... 37 points
Benoit Pouliot...... 14 goals.... 20 assists... 34 points
Jaroslav Spacek.... 7 goals..... 25 assists... 32 points
Roman Hamrlik..... 7 goals..... 25 assists.... 32 points
Maxim Lapierre..... 10 goals.... 11 assists... 21 points
Travis Moen.......... 7 goals..... 10 assists.... 17 points
Dustin Boyd.......... 8 goals..... 8 assists..... 16 points
Tom Pyatt.............. 7 goals..... 6 assists..... 15 points
Josh Gorges.......... 3 goals..... 10 assists.... 13 points
Hal Gill................... 0 goal...... 7 assists...... 7 points
Ryan O'Byrne......... 1 goal....... 6 assists..... 7 points

Keep in mind that a full healthy season for everyone means less chance for Pouliot, Eller, Lapierre, Gorges, O'Byrne and Boyd to shine. Otherwise, they would get more chance.

But coming off a major shoulder injury, can we expect that shot to remain as effective? Just one of the things I started thinking about when I saw 14 goals next to his name. I fully expect him to be setting up Subban's shot (more often than the reverse), like you mentioned.

And again, I agree (re: points totals). Close to 240 GF is completely reasonable, and you spread them around fairly realistically.

He was injured in the knee, not in the shoulder.

I know about the knee and ankle issues, but did he not separate his shoulder when Cooke hit him in that game? I know it was played off as a "lower body injury" afterwards (given that his ankle/knee are no secret, and he DID twist his right knee in the incident, I'm not surprised that they released it as this instead), but he was favouring his left shoulder the whole time lying on the ice, and while gliding to the bench. I think that would make at least his 2nd separated shoulder, if true.

My predictions:

Eller, pumped up by all the hype scores 73 goals beating Selanne's rookie record and Halak bursts spontaneously into flames after a Jim Carey performance.

Latendresse gets a sponsorship from McDonald's and gain 200 lbs, while Pouliot has a stomach surgery so that he cna now digest nitro and it works. Everytime the coach presses on X (or B for the oldschool), Pouliot gets a speed burst. He ends up the year with 35 wraparounds (the goalie is still stuck to the other post)

Price gets a diploma from a budist martial art instution on a deserted island in the Indian ocean. He literally starts goaltending on his head. Pierre Groulx is instantly replaced by "Roshi".

JM is suspected for the death of Daniel Brière, after his head explodes when in a breakaway. Same thing happens to Jason Spezza while trying to pass Gill (à la Souray). Rumors also link him to the disappearance one of Kessel's testicle.

Cammalleri scores 2 goals per game.

Gomez is playing so great that Fans think he is underpaid. There is a riot at the door of the Bell center to have his salary doubled.

Hamrlik re-signs a front loaded contract 10 years, 50M, lowering his cap average from 5.5M to 5M. His followers call that a bargain. Brisebois starts booing him. Jack Todt writes a series of article focusing on Hamrlik errors.

Talking about the Gazette's people... Red Fisher write an article tracing the birth of hockey to his youth, before they invented fire and the wheel... His uncle was eating a frozen dinosaur steak and slaped it hard with a pole in order to tenderize it. Hockey was born.

PK subban goes to the all star game. He obviously wins the car, etc. But what is more noticeable is at the Skill competition, he breaks every skating record... EVEN when the vcr is on slowmotion... Actually, you cannot see him unless it's on slow motion. After his turn of the rink, they had to stop the contest for 3 hours in order to redo the ice. It is said that there was a trail of flame behind him as he skated.

Louis Leblanc gains 60 pounds and now weight 170 lbs, still under standard, maybe in another 5 years Louis. He performs well during his 10 NCAA games scoring 6 pts, is named the (yawwwwn, boring league, boring stats) player of the year, etc. Harvard consider changing its name to "Louis Leblanc was here". Leblanc literally makes team Canada. i.e. they aknoledge their 09' mistake of not naming him, so they ONLY name him for 2010. He wins the gold, silver and bronze. He is also decerned a figure skating medal and an academy award for his "thank you" speech.

Uhm, what I've ready everywhere is that he hurt his knee. I assumed it to be true. We'll see anyway.
