Whats this it will destroy the CFL? No it wont. At worst the CFL becomes a 8 team western league with Halifax and Kelowna.

NFL. Grew up watching the Buffalo Bills in their almost dynasty.

I like basketball but it's really hard to be a fan of an NBA franchise because of things like the LeBacle and the Vince Carter experience in Toronto. One superstar leaving a team can really ruin that franchise.

This kinda makes me wonder how super duper poorly a 2nd NHL team would do in Montreal. Everyone knows that a 2nd team in toronto would sell out every night. I'm kinda curious how empty a 2nd team in Montreal would be. Would it be worst than the Panthers, Nashville?

I honestly can't see anybody in Montreal supporting a 2nd team.

NFL and it's not even close.

Baseball is boring.

In the NBA, all the good players are with the same team...

I don't like any of the sports, but if I had to choose, NFL. I just fear CFL will fail after. So NFL at the cost of CFL or CFL+MLB? Not sure. If we didn't have CFL already, NFL would be top for sure.

Edit: Ideally, i'd like our farm team to be in laval/brossard/montreal/quebec city. That would be nice too.

I would **** my pants if an NFL franchise came to Montreal. Unfortunately I can't see it happen in at least the foreseeable future (20 years). Not that I don't see the support, I just don't see the dollars. Who would build a $500 million stadium and all the start up fees involved? It took long enough to get an MLS franchise which is like a joke compared to the NFL. Montreal just isn't a major league city. Too much damage done in the late 70s/80s with the politics and we're still trying to recover.

We should have build a 35 000 seat stadium 10 years ago in downtown that could have been used for the Expos, Als and l'Impact.

+1

There is no parity anymore

The collusion trades - Garnett and Gasol, the Sternism, the Heat

Football isn't big enough YET in Quebec to support the NFL anyways. It wasn't in Ontario either, at the end they were giving away seats for those Bills games to fill the skydome.

As popular as football has been growing in Quebec in the last decade it's still nothing compared to the way it is in many areas of the USA, it's complete saturation there. You can begin to talk NFL when the ALs and this upcoming QC expansion team are drawing ratings similar to the Habs and demand for tickets is so high that mediocre tickets cost $100-200 (right now for the Als the face value on platinum tickets is a little less than $100).

Come on, the CFL is fine. The don't have a team in Ottawa yet, they have no team in Atlantic Canada. CFL has bigger things on its plate.

NFL is my most favourite sport (league), so it's easy. I'm a HUGE football fan.

I'd trade the Habs for a NFL team here.

It's nothing crazy. I realize this is a hockey forum, but NFL is my main sport. Hockey is second to it in my life. Not to say everyone must share my opinion, but it is what it is for me.

Quebecers like football, I see that before anything.

There is 2 million in Montreal, maybe 4 million in the area.

We can't compete with American teams because of the lack of TV revenues.

I really don't give a crap about any of them. MLB I tried, and successfully got into it for about 3 weeks. That was that. NBA, I tried, and could barely get through a game. NFL, I respect, but just isn't for me. None of them peak any interest in myself, at all

NFL would be nice, but i doubt it will ever happen. We have no stadium, and the NFL wont choose Montreal over many cities like LA, Toronto.

NFL has massive revenue sharing.

A team in MTL will make money by default.

This is not gate driven like the NHL.

I don't think Football is popular enough in Montreal to support a NFL franchise. Then again Nashville has a hockey team.

I used to be an nfl fan back in the 90's, but the league lost me sometime after John Elway retired, and the niners went into the tank.

We like to complain about some rules in hockey but the NFL rulebook is so over the top, its not even funny.

I've found myself getting into european soccer alot more in the last decade. Hopefully, the MLS can attract some bigger names down the road.
