Where are they now? OK not OK

Tell me this was all a bad dream! Who vetted these guys when they bought the Bolts?

Its largest creditor, HSBC Bank Canada, is owed in excess of $250 million. The secured creditors combined are owed more than $300 million.
Bear Mountain defaulted on loans and was placed under creditor protection in March, when Barrie was removed as CEO.

"Saw" is making its final cut.

"Saw 3D," the seventh film in the horror franchise, will also be its last, USA Today reports. The film's producers and star Tobin Bell are expected to make the announcement at Comic Con this Friday, when they present the first footage from the 3D thriller.

"It's time to stop," said producer Oren Koules. "We have told the story we wanted to tell, and this is going to be a great farewell."

That story stretches back all the way to 2004, when James Wan's made-for-pennies original "Saw" became a sleeper Halloween hit. Starring Cary Elwes, Danny Glover, and a pre-"Lost" Michael Emerson and Ken Leung, the film presented the serial-killer format in a chilling new light: two strangers woke up chained to pipes in a bathroom and discovered through a series of games that they'd have to saw off their own foot to escape, or innocents on the outside would be killed.

The film spawned five sequels and a slew of imitators, and is largely credited with creating the "torture porn" genre. And its storytelling (and death traps) has grown increasingly complex over time. Jigsaw (Bell), the film's serial killer, died at the end of "Saw III," but flashbacks and recordings have allowed the producers to continually cast Bell in the films; since "Saw II" he has been the male lead of every installment.

Still, USA Today reports that after last year's "Saw VI" only brought in about $28 million (half the take of the others), the producers felt it was time to bring the enterprise to a halt.

Both Bubba the Love Sponge and Fisher and Boy have bashed OK for begging the shows to talk about Saw when it was coming out and then not returning phone calls once he sold the Lightning. I hope Barrie loses everything, goes to jail and when he gets out one of the people he stole money from knocks him off.

The rest of the ownership is cool with me.

Jury is still out on Koules for me, as far as I know he nixed the Lecavalier deal and was stuck with Barrie once they partnered up.

They were a needed part in Lightning history as without them who says Richards is ever traded and we get Stamkos, Hedman, Downie, Malone, Ohlund etc etc.

Im glad its over, but dont think they deserve all the abuse they get for their time here.

Isn't it more news worthy when he *isn't* in jail?

OK Hockey wasn't all bad, as bassassin has basically said. Anyone with the name pronounced "b ae r ee" might have turned out to be mistakes to include, but hiring Lawton, despite what anyone thinks of him personally, wasn't completely terrible at his job. His connections with Octagon at least set the Lightning up for some pretty nice contracts that probably wouldn't have happened otherwise.

As much as we knock all of them for "not wanting to make Tampa a place UFAs will ever want to sign", somehow they did just that. Ohlund didn't even talk to any other teams before signing here.

It was also the OK/Lawton administration that built the scouting team that's given us these consecutive years of promising draft classes.

I do think they tanked their first season, after they figured out that they wanted was impossible, to ensure they'd get Stamkos.

The deal they offered Mattias was more of a "no-brainer" for him to accept more than anything else. 3.6 per and he's signed till 2016. It's rare for any defenseman at his age to get a 4 year contract or higher, let alone a 7 year deal. He had no choice but to take that deal, especially with the play time he would have been getting with our paper-thin d corps.

Anyway, that's all behind us as bassassin said. And I'm very glad for that.
