I went with Hubert Labrie.

He's a little undersized, but he's a key player for Gatineau. He's already a great defensive defenseman in the Q, and is offense improved this season. Plus, he just turned 19 so there's still major room for improvement. I love the fact he was a key piece to a Memorial Cup run at 16, and he was a captain at just 18.

It is a way for Stars fans to still be able to talk about the people in the system in an amazingly dull offseason, but way to be a buzzkill. It is also fun to compare the list we generate to the one HF puts out.

Yeah, I'm going with Labrie next after Bergin, if it comes to that. His intangibles are extremely high. His weight gain over the past few years is encouraging but his height is still worrisome. He's shorter than Robidas. He's going to have to play with as much or even more heart than Stephane if he's going to make it.

When you get right down to it the whole site is a joke. This message board is a joke. Hell, message boards in general are a joke. Apparently it didn't stop you from signing up for the circle jerk though.

You're just upset because others mocked your Tristan King comment, and for good reason I should add. It was your King rebuttal that was the joke, because everyone here knows that even the laziest HFBoards commenter knows infinitely more than a professional scout.

Major fact.

Yeah, Chad, sure. You're in the wrong Forum, you want the Forum for people with Grand Dillusion Syndrome. None of you really know anything about these prospects, what their capabilites are etc, you're at BEST guessing and in most cases dead wrong about many on this list. But that's my opinion just as valid as yours is to you. As far as my rebuttle being a joke, well, the joke is you

They're prospects....everyone (scouts and posters) is guessing.

And you do know something about these prospects? Your first foray on here showed that's not accurate, so if everyone here is as clueless as you are, why are you hostile towards others trying to fill in a deal summer by debating an entirely subjective ranking?

I've been around here for years, and the overall knowledge on this board is actually pretty good. There are several differences of opinion, but for the most part the opinions are based on facts. No, it's not professional scouting good, if for no reason other than we rarely ever see any of these guys play, but that was a joke or a sarcastic reply that seemingly got you troubled.

Shame on all of us for being dead wrong about the depth prospects in the organization, but I have to say your statement is completely senseless considering we all got a close up view of a concensus 1st overall pick who many NHL scouts and management were dead wrong about. Heard of Stefan? Chill, we're talking late round picks and longshots here.

As for my dead wrong opinion, Tousy's got my vote. I like the idea of a 20 year old French Canadian aggitator with some skating ability and a good hockey build. Not only are the French among the most passionate for the game in the North (like push your Grama down the stairs if it means a win for the Habs passionate), but French dudes generally carry an overconfident swagger. If he understands his role and develops properly we could be in for a Max Lapierre type. A 3 year ELC says something about his potential.

So we were all dead wrong when those among us who thought Benn could be a badass stated as much?

I'm confused whether you're bashing the list in general or just these later guys. It will be pretty obvious 5-7 years from now whether anybody knows anything about these players. Let's revisit then.
