Comparable goaltending and surprisingly equivalent blueline but a real discrepancy at the center ice position.

1. Reay
2. Himes
3. Bodnar
4. Raleigh

The 2nd and 3rd line pivots of Texas are clearly better than the top two of Quebec. In fact, these four lines will be the key to the series, though Ruskowski vs. Ferraro might provide trench warfare. (I imagine the Smith and Carnegie lines as nonfactors in this series.)

Pierre Larouche - Gus Bodnar - Billy Gilmour (A)
Steve Payne - Don Raleigh - Jimmy Ward
Buzz Boll - Ray Ferraro - Ron Stewart

vs.

Thomas Vanek - Normie Himes - Art Farrell (C)
Jack Marks - Billy Reay - Mike Keane (A)
Joe Juneau - Terry Ruskowski - Jim Peplinski

That's the heart of what this series is about!

Two teams with excellent defenses and below average goaltending.

Texas has an outstanding checking line that can chip in offensively; Quebec doesn't really seem to have a checking line. Luckily for Quebec, Texas doesn't have a lot of high-end offense that needs to be checked.

Quebec has a lot of talent on the top line top line, but it depends on Larouche's ability to play winger. On the other-other-hand, Larouche has had a full regular season to get used to his new position.

Definite advantage behind the bench in Quebec, as Ruel is likely a Top 5 coach in this and nobody would have batted an eye if Bryan Murry slipped to the AAA draft.

I agree on Murray, but why is Ruel so good? Educate me.

I honestly don't remember why I liked him so much.

The worst part of this draft has been that EB and VI's players have basically never been discussed.

I criticized Billy Gilmour a long time ago, and we had a good conversation about Babych and Macoun during assassinations, but that's about it.

Texas Brahmas defeat the Quebec Aces in 6 games.

I'll post the 3 stars later on.
