It is not really the head that was Hannu's problem

The injuries he suffered derailed his career ,,, Going back to Finland he changed his positioning slightly and seems to have put the injury issues behind him with a solid year in Finland followed by a good year in AHL. Could be an effective NHL netminder if he can stay healthy

I remember him doing the same on the O boards when we made the WCF

IF Crawf isn't the Backup this year... we can trade him for what we can get.
Hannu could be a solid Backup, he has the talent

I'd still keep him around in case of injury. We have like NO goalie depth at all.

Emery's knee injury is a lot more serious than the media has made out. It's actually going to be pretty big if he can play hockey at all in the next year.

As for Turco or Theodore, I have no problem bringing them in. It seems the consensus idea is that Niemi will get $3+ in arbitration and we may have to walk away from that; and rightfully so. If we can bring in Theodore or Turco to shoulder the load and have Crawford or Toivonen as the handcuff, I think it could work -- but only at the right salary. $2 million would be as high as I would go, maybe even less in Turco's case.

Sounds like Turco for 1.5 is the new #1

I can't believe that Corey Crawford has been seriously/sarcastically mentioned as a possible Blackhawks STARTING GOALTENDER and there have been no oppositional tirades. I'm guessing that whoever brought that up was being sarcastic, but there have been too many replies that took the idea into consideration. If it came down to THAT much of a roll of the dice, I'd go with Toivo all the way. Crawford is a really solid AHL goaltender. As far as the NHL goes, he hasn't even gone through bootcamp yet - he's the kind of guy that would get your best friend's head blown off. I think with our top 4 defensive core that Turco or Theodore would be solid enough, if it's really coming down to those 2 choices I wouldn't be more disappointed in one than the other.

At this time last year, what response would people have if you said Niemi would be our number one goaltender starting the year and throughout the playoff run? Anything can happen.
