Nothing wrong with him as a person, but i wouldn't want a hockey player to be the 2nd guy in command for the party i vote for.

Sounds like a publicity stunt from the Green Party, I don't see how he is qualified to be co-leading a political party. I'll go back to voting Bloc.

The Green party advocates national programs to promote active living and healthy lifestyles, that's an objective Canadians should be serious about. Laraques the poster boy for the program.

It would be interesting if BGL went into politics now and actually won the first seat in the history of the Greenies.

Hey Laraque can finally do something useful with his existence!

Give 'em some financial backing so that they can maybe stop being the laughing stock of the political world.

So indirectly, the Habs support the Greens.

uh oh.

I don't remember the exact details but, from what I learned, this is actually one of the areas where the governor general's position is not entirely ceremonial (although often it is).
The minister of finance is the deputy pm in Ottawa (Jim flaherty). Jacques dupuis has the same role in Quebec.

I think it's Nathalie Normandeau in Quebec, not Dupuis.

About Laraque, I wonder if he would have a chance as a candidate against Denis Coderre in Bourassa (Montréal-Nord), or better, against Justin "I am bilingual" Trudeau in Papineau. There's a big haitian community out there... and between 2 jokes, I'd prefer the hockey guy I think!

I wonder how his little code is going to work now. Is he going to ask opposing parties nicely if they would like to debate with him and back off when they say no?

The man is the definition of a washed up has been attempted to remain in the limelight. The hilarity of Laraque is he was unwashed up, for lack of a better term. The guy had little to no business at the NHL level, at least not from what I have witnessed. He was useless as a player, useless as a fighter (since his code) and will be useless as a politician. And before you ask why I hate him, I do not. I simply am growing fed up listening to him sneak his way into the media for attention with nothing worthwhile to offer.

No, he'll threaten them with making a new ad for Tekksavvy if they don't oblige.

The last deputy prime minister was Anne McLellan:

It's been vacant for several years.

"Yea i'm totally green, dude! I don't eat me at all!" *BGL seen eating burger* Hey what the Hell BGL you were supposed to not eat meat! "I'll do it..eventualy! You guys put too much pressure on me. The President of the Green Party doesn't like vegeterians, that's why it's hard for me". Next stop: cheapendale dancer(but he doesn't really take his cloths off). He's the ultimate tease.
