The mainboard brought up the point that it could be Drury in a salary dump. Do Rangers' fans believe that such a dump is plausible?

Drury has a Full NMC, so it's unlikely, but possible, I guess.

If it's Rozsival I will be FUMING.

I don't think Drury would waive his NTC to go to Atlanta...

Very curious to see what's going the other way. White has been a pretty decent player but he is 35. At best, he's a one year bridge to Stepan.

It's not Redden or Rozsival. Too little to get someone to takle Redden off our hands and not enough value for Rozsival.

A washed up never-has-been. Great!

Unless it's a salary dump, I don't get this move at all.

If only a 4th round pick is going to ATL this is a serious head scratcher.... Why exactly did we need to acquire White???

I wouldn't mind taking a shot at him to be honest. Perhaps I remember him too much during his prime, but I'd love to give him a shot on the 2nd or 3rd line. He seems to have good intangibles, and a North-American veteran presence could be crucial for the Thrashers.

Rozy has a partial no trade, 8 teams he won't be traded too and I'm saying Atlanta is one of them. This must be Brashear and Gilroy, one can only hope

white played with gaborik in minnesota

on another note i really hope we dont give up gilroy for this over the hill center

i really believe gilroy still has upside and wouldnt mind seeing him on the wing for a few games this year

Of course, the intangibles. Always the intangibles.

Anyway, Drury is paid $8M this year, $5M the next, not sure Atlanta can afford his salary this year.

It also makes the Rangers very vulnerable to an offer sheet for Staal. They would only be able to match 4 mil or so.

Let's be fair here. Just because a player is overpaid doesn't make them bad. If you ever expected Drury to put up big numbers with us than you were very misinformed from the start. Drury put up very respectable numbers his first 2 seasons with us, and, let's face it, with our pitiful Powerplay, if we didn't have Drury last season, we would've been picking a lot higher than 10. Atlanta's massive Cap space 2 years of an overpaid PK specialist would help more than it would hurt. Drury is still a great player on the defensive side of things, who can chip in with a few powerplay goals as well. There's a reason he has the C you know.

I'm not positive either. You can no longer send cash in trades, right? Anyways, the Thrashers could potentially afford. I believe that minus White we are spending about 38 million dollars. Add in Little and Bergfors, and we have 43. I could see us biting the extra 6 million this season, and perhaps try for a run.
