No one is going to touch Redden so it's not him.

If it is Gilroy, then they better be getting a pick back.

I could see maybe a 4th round pick coming Atlanta's way or perhaps something as an optional 3rd round switch for the Thrashers; but nothing else of note.
Then by all means, as long as it won't affect their cap situation, it would be a decent move for the Thrashers.

For the Thrashers sake, I hope that's true. For the Rangers, I hope it's not.

Maybe it's Rozsival for Todd White+ and we'll sign Willie Mitchell?

We give up 3.1 mill and take back 2.3. Not much but we get a player in Todd White we could use and part with 1 guy who is finished with the team (Brashear) and another guy who isn't much chop (Gilroy). I would do that in a heart beat. I know it doesnt make too much sense but I just cant picture Tharshers being interested in Redden and Drury. Rozsival I can but I dont really want him gone.

or rozsival for white and resign marc staal, and sign Willie Mitchell and shane hnidy (as the 7th dman)... hnidy is also a former teammate of Gaborik and also played for the Wild like Willie Mitchel has

Doesn't it seem more likely to be Brashear and a pick?

Rangers waive White... remove cap hit...

I don't think the Rangers target DEFENSEMEN who played with Gaborik... Pointless

Need to see what comes back. Don't like this at all though instinctually. Can't imagine how this is good unless we got rid of a hefty contract.

The Rangers have 4 2nd/3rd line centers on the roster already without White who is 35 coming off of injury. The only way this deal makes sense is if it is a salary dump. Salary dumps aren't for 800k. Too early to give up on Gilroy.

We may have a winner here. I'll bet that's the deal.

Guys, it ain't Drury. You are completely devaluing what a captain means to a team. You may be surprised to know that many teams would gladly take Drury off the Rangers hands.

Brash and a 4th makes sense. The Trashers save $1MM and may simply buy Brashear out. The cap hit would actually help them.
If White can play, he stays. It's been a couple of years since I watched him closely in MN but he was always the kind of player who excelled in a lot of things that don't show up on the scoresheet. He usually centered Rolston and Bouchard, not Gaborik. I just don't know how much gas is left in the tank at 35. As a bridge to Stepan, it makes a lot of sense.

It'd be amazing if he waived his NMC. Drury or Redden. Yeah, that would be both epic and amazing.
Drury reminds me of Gomez in that, due to his contract, people are going to not like him because of it despite the fact that they're both quality players. Granted, Gomez is a better scorer and is capable of more, but that's not the point.

Drury is a good 3rd line center. Can win face-offs, pot in about 20 goals, and some decent points.

So where White will fit in the Rangers Lineup? So Dubi is defenitely not a center anymore?

Very True. No one is taking drury with that contract however

It better be for Brashear or Redden. White has a crappy contract, he's 35 (so the over-35 rule applies) and he's no better than Drury or Christensen.

Ugh, anyone else not going to sleep until they hear the details?
