We don't have a #1 center...Gaborik is on the 1st line, so if Christensen is centering him, he's the #1 center....

Not necessarily. In Minnesota, Koivu was the #1 center, Gaborik the #1 winger. But they didnt play the same line most of the year.

The depth chart was

X-Koivu-Gaborik

but the lines were

x-x-Gaborik
x-Koivu-x

Christensen is by no means our #1 center. That is either Prospal or Dubinsky depending on where they are playing. If they both are at wing (unlikely) then it is probably White.

White played with Kovi in '09 and had 73 points

He hasn't been our #1 center since he was signed. I'm not sure why anyone would think he'd be one now.

Let EC and White battle out for the #1 center position. White
probably has the upper hand now as he did produce 73 points
2 years ago. However, EC did show some real good chemistry
with Gaborik.

first line center: White
2nd line center: EC
3rd line center: Drury
4th line center: AA

Not bad at all... Also Prospal and Dubinsky can play
center if injuries happen.. There is some good
depth at the center position

I'd rather Anisimov centred the top line if the alternative's White/Christensen.

In an ideal world I'd keep EC with Gaborik, at least out of the gate (Christensen-Anisimov-Drury-White, perhaps), but I'd have no problems with Anisimov on the top line and EC dropping between Dubinsky and Aasen on the 2nd line.

I agree with the sentiment, but I think White has proven he can play with the bigs boys. At least with Kovalchuk

So as I see it

Dubinsky-White-Gaborik
Prospal-Drury-Frolov
Avery-Anisimov-Callahan
Prust-Boyle-Boogaard

christensen goes to the AHL or rotates in and out of the pressbox

MZA gets bumped to the AHL/pressbox unless he really impresses in camp

If anybody should be in Hartford or in the press box, it should be Boyle. And I don't think White makes the team simply because his salary limits trade possibilities come deadline time.

Prospal-Dubinsky-Gaborik
Frolov-AA-MZA
Avery-Drury-Callahan
Boogaard-EC-Prust

Staal-Roszival
MDZ-Girardi
Gilroy-McDonagh

Boyle
Eminger

Henrik
Biron

White centering our 1st line????

You expect a veteran forward like White, who was just traded for guys that literally had negative trade value, to center our 1st line?

If White's healthy (and that's a big if) he might center our 4th line over Boyle.

EC, Prospal, and Dubinsky will play musical chairs for that 1C. Ansimov and Drury will battle it out for 2C and 3C.

White will not be centering our 1st line. This idiotic idea is should be shot and killed as fast as possible before word gets around to the rest of the 16 year old mongoloids here.

I really hope White doesn't play at all.

But, I think we'll see something along the lines of:

Dubinsky - Christensen - Gaborik
Frolov - Anisimov - MZA
Prospal - Drury - Callahan
Avery - White - Prust
Boogaard

Quick question, can't we just put Dubi back in center and put Prospal on the left wing?

Prospal-Duby-Gabo
Frolov-Christensen-Callahan
Drury-Anisimov-MZA
Avery-White-Prust/Boogie/Boyle

Yeah I think this is the money lineup going into the start of the season.

I do think though we could have something like:

Prospal - Christensen - Gabs
Dubinsky - Anisimov - Frolov
Callahan - Drury - MZA
Avery - White - Prust
Boogs

Both Frolov and Callahan can play on either wing, plus I would like to see Artem playing with some big, strong power style forwards. I think it suits his game and that second line would be great at carrying the puck into the zone. Also both Prospal and Christensen have good chemistry with Gabs so put em together.

I gotta agree with Boom Boom...White's coming off surgery, his knees are questionable and he's 35...and we got him for Brash and Rissmiller (a good indication of value)...that's the guy who's gonna centre the first line? C'mon...give your head a shake....

He hit 73 pts in 08/09 and 60 in 02/03....other than that he's between 35 and 50 pts in his good years....At this point I'd take EC on the first line over White in a heartbeat...

Not sure with the hate for Todd White... He has proven to produce in the NHL with 73 points only 2 seasons ago.. That's real good.. IF HEALTHY... He has to be given a chance at the #1 center slot with Gaborik on the wing..

If he does nothing.. then Torts moves on with EC or perhaps Prospal or Dubinsky and etc...

msv I love your optimism and all, but you do tend to over value just about everyone who is or becomes affiliated with the Rangers.

Yes, White had a great year two years a go. Check out who he played with. Then check out the rest of his career. Pay attention to his other good years in Ottaw being almost 10 years ago.

The guy is coming off crazy shoulder surgery, two knee dislocations, and is damaged goods.

If he makes the club, and everyone else struggles up top, would he eventually get a shot? Probably. But there is ZERO reason to start him there. Especially considering how well EC played with Gabby last year.

I like that lineup especially the 2nd line with all the puck possession monsters
