Players who have led Everything.

How Many players have led both the regular season and playoffs in points and goals in there careers?

It doesn't have to have been in the same season.

Off the top of my head, Gretzky, Lemieux, Howe, Crosby, Bobby Hull, Phil Esposito, sure there are a few others.

Not bad.

Orr, Lafleur, Malkin, Richard, Beliveau, Trottier, Moore, Mikita. That's more just off the top of my head and I know there has to be more

Now keep in mind, the question in the OP is a little vague. Does it all have to have happened in one specific season. And did they have to lead the NHL in goals AND points in the playoffs AND regular season? Just asking

It's doesn't have to be in the same season. Just the players who have had led both the regular season and playoffs in goals and points.

I think you're overlooking the goal stipulation... Mikita, Trottier and Malkin never led the league in goals, Richard never led in points. Orr never led the playoffs in goals.

Crosby
Lemieux
Gretzky
Lafleur
Esposito
Bobby Hull
Beliveau
Geoffrion
Dickie Moore
Howe
Lindsay
Lalonde
Weiland
Morenz

I think that's just about everyone. Obviously much harder to do in the modern era now that you have to play more than just just a handful of playoff games. Morenz led the playoffs when they were like 2 games...

Thats a very elite group to be in. I think the NHL should make a group. Like how there is a triple gold club.

Unless I'm misreading the OP, Ovechkin led the league in goals(65) and points(112) in 07-08. Gretzky, Lemieux, Orr, Forsberg, and probably some others I can't think of did as well.

Now, which of this group has also led both regular season and playoffs in assists at some point also?

I don't know but I don't think that should be including just goals and points.

Crosby has never led the league in assists during regular season. IIRC his best finish is 2nd. There may be others on that list too, he's the only one I know for sure hasn't.

True, I forgot about Thornton. He's so easy to forget about these days.

Yes I have re-read the question. Malkin, Mikita and Trottier were on my list solely for points, not goals. Orr for points of course as well

Edit: My bad, he led the league in the 1951 playoffs with 7 points. I got confused by the fact that four players tied for the lead. I also missed Charlie Conacher who split the lead in the 1934 playoffs with three other players after scoring five points.

This gives the following list:

Jean Beliveau
Charlie Conacher
Cy Denneny
Gordie Drillon
Phil Esposito
Bernie Geoffrion
Wayne Gretzky
Gordie Howe
Bobby Hull
Guy Lafleur
Newsy Lalonde
Mario Lemieux
Ted Lindsay
Dickie Moore
Howie Morenz
Cooney Weiland

There's also an exclusive group of ten players who have led the league in goals, assists and points in both the regular season and the postseason (only including the NHL years for the playoffs).

Jean Beliveau
Phil Esposito
Wayne Gretzky
Gordie Howe
Guy Lafleur
Newsy Lalonde
Mario Lemieux
Ted Lindsay
Dickie Moore
Howie Morenz

How about this group...

Only players to have..
1. led the regular season in goals and assists in the same season
AND
2. led the playoffs in goals and assists in the same season

Wayne Gretzky
Phil Esposito
Howie Morenz
Newsy Lalonde

Note: None of these players accomplished both in the same year
