So good, he couldn't get a job elsewhere in the NHL.

Metro is awesome but we need to let the kids play. Time for Pyatt and White to show what they are made of for a full season.

Yes Metro was great here, but he's 36 now. The 35+ rule is an issue and he's a 4th liner so...

He was good for us during his tenure, and I'm glad he's going to continue playing professional hockey.

That being said we had to go younger and grittier in our bottom 6, so naturally he wasn't a fit anymore.

I'm sure he had offers. Believe it or not, some people choose to play in leagues other than the NHL.

He was a top top notch spare part, a great waiver acquisition. But his time was up, and we've got a flood of potential forward options as it is

Yeah, usefulness to a team can be a big factor for a player who is dwindling in the amount of years he can still play pro hockey competitively. I'm sure money is a huge factor, but if he can be a key player for a team in another league...who knows. That may be all it takes

Sad to see him go. He had a great year for us and I had the pleasure of meeting him at the beginning of last year and he's an awesome guy but it is time to let some of the young takes play on the fourth line... best of luck to Metro.

One of the best fourth liners ever in a Habs uni? You must be pretty young, man.

I'm sure he could have had an NHL job somewhere, problem wants to take it easier in Switzerland. Plus he doesn't have the greatest job security in the NHL as he always seems to being moved from team to team via waivers or trades or whatever. He'd probably much rather chill here for 2 years:

But anyways, I wish Glen luck in the NLA and thank him for being a trooper (and PP Gretzky might I add) for us!

Pretty much i'm 19 and only seen one stanley cup parade in my lifetime, so yeah I
haven't seen the best of them, but for the 1990's decade and 2000's I haven't
noticed someone with such consistency in our lineup.

Yvon Lambert 32 goals twice (included PP time but so what, that's how good he was).

Mario Tremblay 20+ goals multiple times before moving up to 3rd line later in career.

Doug Risebrough 60 points!

Hey, we had no room for him, at least he's going to go to Switzerland where he can relax, put up some good numbers, be a very good top sixer and just, I mean, he's in one of the nicest countries in Europe!
