Salak. If he gets a real goaltending coach to help him with his form and consistency he might end up being a legit NHL goalie.

Add Duco.

I still can't believe Dadonov slipped to 12.

Voted McArdle. He won't be a star and I've been one of the most critical of him around here. Never liked the pick from day one, but I think he'll be an an affective 4th line grinder with real good speed. Think his "letter grade" is pretty high, but his number grade is low. He's going to reach his potential IMO, so long as the injuries can stay out of his way.

Add Plante. God we've got so many goalies.

Shore, add Comrie.

IMO McArdle shouldn't even be in the top 20, he is much older than most of our prospects and have proved nothing (what a waste of pick, first rounder). I would go as far as calling a bust, already.

You've got a strange concept of bust, then. He's certain to be a somewhat serviceable NHL regular, albeit not a top-6 scorer. But then again, he was never slated to be a go-to-guy that puts points on the board. From day one his projection was that of a 3rd or 4th line energy guy. So far he's looking to live up to his potential by way of effort and hustle.

I wouldn't be surprised if he sees more time in the NHL than the AHL this season, especially if Tallon continues the rebuild/youth movement. He'll definitely be an NHL regular in 2012, albeit not necessarily on the Panthers.

I was hoping we picked up Oshie at that spot, however. Such is life.

McArdle was touted as being a potential top six forward. Stop using hindsight - McArdle when drafted by was certainly considered by the Panthers brass to have potential upside. We traded up for him.

Plus, McArdle to me basically is a bust. Its 5 years later. McArdle doesn't possess the abilities to score more than 20 pts at the NHL level. Sure, he'll be an NHL player probably - but an incredibly minor one. To me, he's a bust but in semantics.

You wanted Oshie at the time of the draft? Again, finding it hard to believe. Even to hardcore draft buffs (who know alot lot more than you or i) would seriously be struggling to peg Oshie around that area.

I'll vote Shore here. Probably the most potential left of the list if you disclude the Goaltenders.

this set of threads has made me really appreciate how solid our prospect list is as compared to even just a year or so ago. very deep. after another solid draft next year we should be flush with talent. then it will just be up to the coaches to develop them. im looking forward to watching it all happen and seeing who pans out.

There's a definite influx of quality talent at the prospect level. The additions of Bjugstad, Gudbranson, Grabner, Howden, McFarland, Brickley definitely give us more of a complete prospect profile.

Like you mentioned, it is imperative that a solid/consistent support structure is fostered for their continuing development.

I was going to several polls ago but he is still retained as Panthers property. I even think new Amerks coach Chuck Weber hinted at the fact that he'd try and convince Henry to stay in the AHL instead of leave for the KHL. I know he won't be voted in any of these polls but if he's still Cat's property we'll keep him on the addition list.
