And people have to remember that Burke's character is not perfect. Remember that when Peter Zezel asked for a trade from Vancouver to somewhere in the Eastern Conference because his niece in Toronto was ill and he wanted to be closer, Burke traded him to Anaheim. So Zezel retired.
I think that was whole situation that changed Burkes perception on how to treat players and he has been doing his best to fix that image ever since.
Worst case scenario, Burke thought about his situation, and then went to discuss a trade-and-sign with Kaberle's camp.
It's not going to be Forsberg. If you disagree, I will hate to say I told you so, but I darn well told you so.
Yeah that's what I think it is as well. Burke is not going to get the return he wants unless there is a sign and trade and yeah, Burke is not going to go after Forsberg. I doubt he would use our last contract on him and why would Forsberg come here? If anything, he goes to a contender.
I'm sure teams would be very willing to deal a top 6 forward for Kaberle with extension.
Burke is the kind of guy that always goes to charity events and all typed of fundraisers. He wouldn't cancel a special olympics thing to fly to Europe and sign someone that isn't a star. Someone already posted in the topic we have on the Leafs forum from someones twitter that said Burke is negotiating with Forsberg. And I have a feeling its either Forsberg or something to do with a trade involving Kaberle+ to Nashville for Radulov and Burke is going there to discuss with Radulov or w.e.
