Rate Flames #3 Prospect

I left the last one for 35 votes, I think that is enough of a sample size?

*Vote for the best prospect based on potential and talent. NOT for who is the most NHL ready.
*It is an elimination process. Once a player has been selected as the best, then their name comes off the list

TOP PROSPECTS LIST:
1) C/W Mikael Backlund
2) D Tim Erixon

Let me know if you think I should do this differently.

The "other" vote is Cameron.

Listening to people in the past thread I was persuaded to choose Mitch Wahl. The overall game is better than Nemisz imo. Nemisz has things to work on (which may give him more potential) but Wahl doesn't really have any holes to his game and can play in every situation (not that Nemisz can't). I'll have to take the skill and smarts of Wahl on this one.

Intresting to see that the top 2 prospects (at least according to HF members) are 1st round Europeans (yes...even drafting so late as Darryl is fond of saying).

I would have put Pelech above Erixon personally... the kid's ready to make the jump. So I guess I'll say Pelech for #3.

It's stupid how badly they underrate our guys. They don't even have a Flames writer.

the reason our prospects are so underrated is quite simple... we don't have any 'sexy' prospects... they are always skewed to teams who have the prospects with the highest potential... and usually they favor forwards over defensemen as well

for example...

Team A: has 2 projected stars and nothing else past that
Team B: has no projected stars but has 2 projected 2nd liners and 2 projected top 4 defensemen

they would rate Team A higher than Team B

I had to go with Howse, I am really high on this kid. He is the only true sniper prospect we have and every time I see him his shot impresses the hell out of me. Since we're voting on potential, I believe he's the only one that has top line potential on the list

I would go with Howse as well. He is not there yet, but hopefully he can carry his game to the NHL at some point. I would also say that Cameron is right there as well.

I missed Cameron because he is not on the HF list. that I used to compile the selections. I'll remember to add him next time.

We dont have any prospects period. Other than Phaneuf, do we really have a NHL regular in the last 10 years?

I guess there was Nystrom and David Moss....lol

That's pretty sad for a team that has only won one playoff

Assuming you don't count the bit players: Pardy, Prust, Boyd, McElhinney... There's still Giordano and Lombardi. Backlund is technically already a regular.

Sinse when? Must have been in the last few month because we didn't have one during the playoffs.

You can sign bit players as FA for cheaper and save on development cost.

Giordano was a good find but not a draft pick. You can consider Lombardi a good pick but he was traded for negative value ...
