Whoever has chemistry with our best LW and RW is the #1 center. I don't care if it's Christensen, White, or Anisimov. The best players should get the most ice time, assuming they earned it.

Does it mean anything that neither Sather nor Torts called White to welcome him to the team? He got the call from the ass't coach....hardly the welcome one would expect for a top 6 forward....Or is that reading too much into this?

Frolov - Anisimov - MZA
Prospal - Drury - Callahan
Avery - White - Prust
Boogaard
I like this. It's so hard to do lineup projections at this time of year but if I had to choose right now this would be it.

Prospal on the third line allows him and Drury to hopefully see less ice time. Prospal also gives Cally and Dru a guy who might be able to put the puck in the net. That's something that Cally and Dru will struggle with but Prospal gives them a little finesse.

I like the second line. We've got a big strong guy to work with Arty. Arty gets his top 6 minutes and continues his develop. MZA floats around and makes plays off of both of them. I think that could be a good line.

First line, might as well go with it. It showed some good spirts last year and there's no reason to go into the year not trying it.

Avery-White-Prust/Boogie/Boyle
Sure we could, but why? Makes no sense to break up Dubi-Christensen-Gabs, especially when you consider Dubi played much better at wing. Also don't like Arty on the third line. Christensen should center Gabby until he proves he's incapable and Arty gets second line minutes. Prospal is 35 and doesn't need to be playing on the top line. Will he see time there? I'm sure, but Torts flips everything.

Cause he's not a top six forward, and this trade was nothing more than garbage for garbage.

White might win the fourth line center job if we have enough cap space.

Not sure where the top 6 forward thing comes in.

you are reading too much into todd white. it means hes not gonna play for us.

hell be waived or play in hartford. hes basically another version of capt quaalude.

we dont need that. hes 35 yrs old and hes got a bad wing.

and we already have vinny prospal. what happened to getting younger ?

I was just questioning all the line up projections that had White as centring either the first or second line....it struck me as preposterous that he would be there. I have serious doubts he will see much if any ice time at MSG...I just thought that if the Rangers had any real thoughts about using him then either Torts or Sather would have spoken to him right after the trade

How it should be (IMO):

Frolov - Anisimov - Gaborik
Dubinsky - Prospal - MZA
Avery - Stepan - Callahan
Prust - Drury - Boogaard

How it will be:

Frolov - Christensen - Gaborik
Dubinsky - Prospal - MZA
Avery - Drury - Callahan
Prust - Boyle - Boogaard

with torts coaching:
?-?-?
?-?-?
?-?-?
Prust - Boyle - Boogaard
i should replace Prust with a ? too because if he gets hot he will move up. Or if torts loves Frolov as much as i think he will then Prust will move up.
i need to make dice that have players names on them. one die for top six and one for bottom 6. you would have a greater chance of lines staying together doing that then torts coaching.

i want to see Redden gone and replaced with youth or a solid veteran, no one special just solid in his own end. i also want to see torts be more patient with line combos and less patient with benching under-performing vets. last and least, torts slapping that Islander loving mouth of Larry Brooks would be nice.

So you don´t thik Ansimov will play? I think it should be like this:

Dubinsky - Christensen - Gaborik
Frolov - Anisimov - MZA
Prospal - Drury - Callahan
Avery - Boyle - Boogaard/Prust

I think White will also get his chance but I haven´t seen him play that much to have an opinion on him so I don´t know where to put him.

Hoping Drury goes on LTIR for the rest of the season sometime in December and we sign Forsberg. Him and MZA have absolutely magical chemistry and it'd obviously be a 1 year deal. If that was the big Sather deal of the year, I'd be very happy.

Frolov Christensen Gaborik
Dubinsky Forsberg MZA
Prospal Anisimov Callahan
Prust Avery Boogard

or

Prospal Christensen Gaborik
Frolov Forsberg MZA
Dubinsky Anisimov Callahan
Prust Avery Boogard

or

Dubinsky Christensen Gaborik
Frolov Forsberg MZA
Prospal Anisimov Callahan
Prust Avery Boogard

Staal Girardi
DZ Rozy
McDonagh Mitchell / Gilroy / etc

So Anisimov, after playing 82 games last year, is completely taken out of the lineup this season?

I was busting his horns

With all the player movement and the excess of forwards now, it's pretty easy to make that mistake.

Care to explain why? Please enlighten me on how signing Forsberg to a 1 year deal if Drury went down with a season-ending injury would be bad?

Once Redden is banished, I'd also like to see Gilroy moved and Paul Mara signed for 1 year ~1 million.

Staal Rozsival
Del Zotto Girardi
McDonagh Mara
Eminger

I'd love to see that defense this year. Anyone else?

I like this lineup a lot.. just put AA in the 4th line
center position in instead of Boyle.. AA seemed
to do well last year on the 4th line with Shelley and
Prust. That line opened up the ice for AA and etc.
AA did not have the pressure and expectations of
being on the top 2 lines which seemed to help.
He can then develop in the NHL without the pressure
being put on a 22 year old this year.

Paul Mara is ****ing terrible. He was the 7th defenseman last season in Montreal. Gilroy > Mara.

Not sure if his reasoning is the same as mine, but it's different to say "sign Forsberg if Drury went down with a season ending injury" and to "hope" Drury went down with a season ending injury. I never want to see any player on my team or any other team get seriously injured.

Peter Forsberg's broke ass ankles make him skate slower then Jason Allison.

I have a slight variation on this question:

Assume that the fourth line is fixed as

Prust-Boyle-Boogaard.

What do the top 9 look like and who's out?

My guess:

Dubinsky-EC-Gaborik
Prospal-Anisimov-Frolov
Avery-Drury-Callahan

I think MZA will start the season in Hartford to get used to the NA game.
