I'd add Mike Santorelli into the mix. He's still an RFA and unsigned...

Also there was rumblings of Mike Santorelli wanting a one-way based on his AHL play.

I would guess Sulzer or Santo for picks/prospects.

If it is Santo, do we deal his brother too?

We're at the 50 contract limit, so I'd assume we trade an unsigned RFA (Santorelli or even Dekanich) for a pick and then use that new spot to sign a free agent.

The only position I can see us adding to at this point is...goaltender!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'm reading this right and in the next couple weeks we have a former Hart and Vezina trophy winner in the organization to backup Pekka...

Excuse me, don't mine me, I'm just stepping and crushing on Seth's hopes and dreams, don't mind me.

I think the rumor about Theodore was put out by his agent. I'm honestly shocked there is no news of Legacy.

It could be Plante. We certainly won't be acquiring Dekanich. We have Markstrom, Plante, Salak and Cheverie all "fighting" for AHL spots and we have two NHL goaltenders at our disposal already.

I think our AHL team needs more Offence, so i assume it would be a forward.

If you can read french...I believe the reports were that this story has a quote from Theodore's agent that conflicts with Poile's statement from Tuesday night...

We have Rinne, Dekanich, Pickard, Lindback, Smith currently and might still be in the market for a veteran backup (although Poile did his best to deny that Tuesday).

I'd say Santorelli is the only one that makes sense...

I could see any of Santorelli, O'Reilly, or Sulzer.

The David Poile profile says that Poile likes a lot of draft picks in weak drafts. It matches well with his skills. In the Finley draft he STILL managed to get 4 guys who played in the NHL when it was really a miracle to get anything out of it.

Would be nice if it was multiple picks.

I agree. Those are the only three that make any sense at all. But my money's on Santorelli since he is still unsigned and needs a change of scenery the most...

Not a big le Press fan. They blew up the Kostitsyn situation and tries to lean more towards tabloid than reputable news source. Still two steps above the TNesan.

EDIT: Note, the Preds have all their draft picks and NJ's #2 after the Arnott trade.

The only real force keeping him here would be his brother....

I have no idea. I wouldnt be shocked with O'reilly, Sulzer, Dekanich, Santo, or any number of other players. Im sure this is just trading a 1 way for picks, which is all fine by me.

Press Release...

Here's the press release:

Quote:
NASHVILLE PREDATORS ACQUIRE A CONDITIONAL FIFTH-ROUND PICK FROM FLORIDA

- Send forward Michael Santorelli to the Panthers -

Nashville, Tenn. (August 5, 2010) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has acquired a conditional fifth-round pick in the 2011 Entry Draft in exchange for restricted free agent forward Michael Santorelli.

The Predators now have nine selections in next summer’s Entry Draft at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. In addition to Florida’s pick, and seven picks of its own, Nashville acquired a second-round pick from New Jersey in June.

Santorelli was a sixth-round choice of the Predators (178th overall) in the 2004 Draft.

What kind of pick would you expect for Mike Santorelli? (Or for that matter Mark? Could be a package deal for a couple of picks)

Mirtle broke it on Twitter: Mike Santorelli for a Conditional 5th. http://twitter.com/mirtle

Good! One less undersized forward in the pipeline.
