Dubinsky-Christensen-Gaborik was our best line last season. Putting Prospal in Dubi's spot and taking forever to put the original line back together when he came back from injury may have very well cost us a playoff birth when all was said and done.
So I think we should go into the season with that. If it doesn't work you can always throw Frolov on there. Frolov can play with Gaborik on the powerplay. We should try to spread out the talent in the top 6. Frolov and Anisimov could be GREAT together the way they work the puck behind the net and in the corners.
Prospal out PPgamed Dubinsky last year, and seems to be more comfortable as a center. So unless Prospal regresses significantly this year, or Dubinsky takes another step up it is Vinny.
Just curious why did you start with the LW instead of center position? Probably makes sense since it's a stronger position on the Rangers.
The point is if you started with the center and Christensen won (very possible) then it almost guaranteed that Dubinsky would be 1LW over Frolov. It obviously works the other way now too, so if Frolov is voted over Dubinsky it almost guarantees that Christensen is NOT the first line center and it would be one of either Prospal or Anisimov.
Welcome to the forum. And I agree with you. The poll should have started with C over wing.
Frolov, because he'll open the ice up more for Gabby. Dubinsky doesnt have that type of respect around the league yet. Plus itll take some heat off the second line, when all the top defenders will be focused on them. Itll allow Dubi and Anisimov to open things up for rookie MZA as well.
dubinsky for 3 reasons.
1) i'd like to see him and gaborik on a line for years to come and i want them to continue to develop chemistry.
2) 17 goals in his last 51 games at wing says something about him
3) If someones taking shots at gaborik or sends him into the boards is frolov, prospal, or mza going to go over and drop the gloves? no but dubi will.

i couldnt seem to find it, and im almost positive i did it.
the whole point of signing Frolov, at least imho, is to not have the offense come to a screeching halt whenever a team puts out their version of Philips and Volchenkov...

I agree. It would seem to make the most sense to have your two best goal scoring threats on different lines.
I went Brandon Dubinsky. I would put Frolov on the 2nd line to space out the scoring.
I agree that frolov should not be on the same line as gaborik. You need to balance out your lineup so a good shutdown checking line cant kill our scoring for a night

There are at least two ways to overcome shutdown defense - split the scoring power is just one option. Overpower the defense with too much offense is another.
as my lineup so I went Prospal. Doesnt look like the board agrees with me (shocker)

I love it. I don't like how Dubi is on the 3rd line but that's just how it has to be. I like the idea of bringing Avery-Dubi back together and with Cally on their wing that's one hell of a 3rd line.
1st line is what we saw last year. So, why mess with success.
the 2nd line is a HUGE ?. BUT, I like it's potential.
with a one year contract he has every reason to want to excel. He has decent size, is a puck hog and hard to push off the puck which works well with Gaborik who can set himself up for the wicked wrist shot. You know coach is going to tweak things anyway but based on talent I give the edge to Frolov.
I also think Dubinsky can excel on the 2nd line as a winger, but if he moves to pivot I suppose it isn't the worst thing in the world, although I prefer Drury as the 2nd line center. I think those two along with MZA if he impresses would be a decently skilled line.
