If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Fans of teams with good ownership would understand this.
Fixed. It wasn't because the original Sabres jersey was bad that they changed it, it was because the owners (correctly) figured they could make a ton of money by changing the logo and selling brand new jerseys.
yeah, I'm sure a lot of people will look at them and view them as ugly etc., but you have to take into account the Flames only have 30 years of history, unlike the other teams who have been in Winter classics etc. who actually have vintage jerseys to reprise, so it's a bit more of a Calgary Heritage Jersey, not a Calgary Flames Heritage Jersey.
The Flames' vintage jersey is our 3rd jersey for this upcoming season (the one used in 6 games last year, unveiled last summer)
It's like if the Canucks played a heritage game in Vancouver Millionaire gear, like the Giants did:
Anyway at first I thought the jersey was hideous... but after looking a couple more times the only thing that bugs me is the white 'C'... should be red... possibly with white outline, IMO.
1) Doesnt matter, they used it for 6 years
2) Who cares, the team can't pay homage to the city's past?
3) I think the designers were going for more of how it looked back then, but adapting it a bit, regardless of how it looked, and seriously, its not Flying V bad.
4) Your team wore the worst thing to ever touch the ice. But whatever makes you feel good.
Calgary Flames hockey past dies with Atlanta - hence the name. The jersey's suck. The jersey is bad solely because in the 1980s EVERYONE who was alive wore something ugly as sin. Do you remember the 80s? The Canucks flying V as ugly as it was was no more ugly than any other item of clothing or style in it's day. There is absolutely NO excuse for this jersey with all the history of ugly sports jerseys we have already endured.
