Hey, this will be the first time in 4 years I will be out of a region which can pick up RDS (and I won't even have Cable at all so I couldn't get it if it was even possible). I know 2 seasons ago RDS had a package to order the games streaming from their website for a fee. I don't think they did this last year, or did they? Anyways -- does anyone know/think they will do it this season?
I know there are plenty of other streams/feeds to choose from but they are always either laggy, unreliable, bad quality, just not the way it's meant to be watched. So I AM aware of that route, but...I would love to know if RDS is offering that package again
Two years ago, an online stream was indeed available from RDS for about 90$, and the quality was fantastic. Last year however, there were some issues with the cable companies I believe (I don't think anyone knows for sure), and it wasn't available. I hope it comes back this season but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Dunno where you are, but RDS was not available in all markets, for example you couldn't get it in Japan. The headache of finding free streams is well, a headache. There's the NHL package some friends here had good results with that. I'd prefer RDS so if anyone knows if they'll have something truly international available this season please advise thanks.
I would do the NHL online package but you can't watch Montreal games on it because Ontario is still considered Montreal territory. I think it is because RDS owns the rights Canada-wide to the Canadiens.

Wait so the NHL Online Package doesnt show MTL?? Why would I want it then!!

Sorry, I was giving advice against the NHL online package on information I've found. I'm pretty sure they made NHL game center live for out of market fans to be able to watch their teams. So for an example if I was a Chicago fan living in Montreal, I could get NHL game center and watch the Chicago games, because I do not live in Chicago's market.
Montreal's market however, spans all of Canada, because RDS has broadcasting rights in all of Canada. At least that was what I found.
If anyone wants to correct me on that, please do because I like the OP would like to find a way to stream Habs games in the quality RDS used to have.
If you're outside of North America, you can get all NHL games online streaming with ESPN360: https://www.espnplayer.com/
I think you might even have to be outside NA just to order it. But I used it, and it was great. Can access any and all NHL games, and they are all archived so you can watch them whenever you like. (I was in the Middle East and preferred to watch the Habs games in the morning rather than in th emiddle of the night!)
