Can Danny Kristo make this team?

I was just on habsinsideout and saw a really nice compilation on Danny Kristo at the WJC. The kid is impressive!
Now the reason I'm starting this thread is because we don't have many right handed forwards other then Gionta and Lapierre. Whether it's important or not, do you guys think he has the talent to make the jump as of training camp? Does he start the season in the AHL?
I haven't seen much of him other then the WJC, so I would like to know your opinions. Is this kid ready for the pros???

PS I have no idea how to link videos so if anyone wants to put that video here please do so.

I want him to do one more season at North Dakota. Most of his points were on the PP so I would like to see him get better 5 on 5. But he's a great prospect to have and he looks very serious about his career as a hockey player.

Well, I don't think he has a pro contract yet and will play in the NCAA again this year.
IMO. 1 year NCAA then 1 year AHL and he's ready.

He's one of our most intriguing prospect. He has real quick feet and his offensive instincts are very impressive. This is the two qualities I'm really looking for when scouting a young player.

Can't wait to see how he makes the transition to the pro.

Kristo is planning to take another year with North Dakota, but I expect he's going to sign his pro contract after that. He and Leblanc can line up together for the Bulldogs in 11-12, which should be awesome.

Maybe the season after this one he'll get call ups, but no way he even plays pro hockey this year.

Not sure about that. I think they have Avstin who will be playing with Leblanc. But whoever it is, put them together from a young age to develop chemistry.

Danny's not quite ready yet. Give him one more year at UND, one season with Hamilton to get used to a longer schedule with a few call-up games, and then we'll see if he can make the team.

I hope the Habs don't have another Pacioretty-like brain fart and try to rush him to the NHL at 20. Let him have another year NCAA plus maybe another year AHL. Let the kids develop and round out their game instead of rushing them, having them fail, then having them sent back down with no confidence left.

Makes sense. Pacioretty will be back though and ready for top 9 duty, I'm sure of it.

That's just because Team Canada always has a lot of centers. In Montreal and Hamilton and Montreal I definitely think he'll stay at center.

But we could've drafted Danick Paquette, a 'gros bonhomme capable de marquer des buts'

As other said, he doesn't have a contract so he really cannot even try to make the team until he turns pro.

You know what though, if he cracks the Habs' lineup while Pleks, Gomez, and Eller are still here (which is anytime in the next 4 years, I guess), I could totally see him being moved to Eller's wing. As little sense as that seems to make for the extremely long term (i.e. the post Plekanec/Gomez era), if he's among the best options available in camp some year, I could see him getting the Higgins treatment (moved to the wing to find him a spot).

I'm not saying it's going to happen, or that it's even likely. I wouldn't rule it out though.

That question's moot because he won't be at training camp.

If the habs org take their time to develop him, he has potential to become an important part of the core. He also looks to have the drive to become a future assistant (or even captain).

As much as I wanted to punch him in the face when he sang this song, I found that it shows alot about his character and how much of a competitor he is.

I think he will have the chance to crack the team as soon as next year when he turns Pro, this kid has already the speed, the hands, the shot to play in the NHL IMO, just need to bulk up a bit.. If he ever play in the AHL, I cant see him spending too much time there..

I think they'll evaluate him at camp, but he'll likely be at UND next year. Realistically, being patient is probably be the best thing with him. Montreal has rushed prospects (Price, MaxPacs) in the past to the detriment of their development. One the other hand, if they had rushed Subban, I doubt he'd be at the level he is right now.
