Going with Prospal. I don't see him playing the right side, so the choice is to put him here, or to put him on the third line. I certainly don't expect him starting on the third line.

I don't see how anyone can have Anisimov above Prospal at this point in time. One is a proven top 6 forward, one is not.

I want to agree but a big part of me thinks that he'll need another NHL season before he can fill that role. IMO at the VERY LEAST he'll need at least 1/2 of next season to be promoted.

I'm going with prospal.

Anisimov plays a superb 2-way game, and was the center of our best line down the stretch. kid is ready for bigger minutes and better linemates.

The only way i'd put AA over Prospal is to keep allowing AA to play more minutes so he keeps developing, but Vinny is probably a better choice.

This is one of the more interesting matchups IMO.

problem with choosing prospal here is that who plays 3c? AA? and then where is Drury? on wing?

Well if EC sinks instead of swims on the first line (where I personally believe he'll start) you can bump the centers up completely, with prospal on 1st, AA on 2nd and Drury on 3rd, possibly. I'd love for AA to be able to be a serious second (hopefully even first ) liner, but Prospal right now is just the more proven of the two. A line of Dubinsky-x-Gaborik and Frolov-Prospal-x to me gives us two nice scoring lines and is what I would personally go witrh if I wanted to maximize the scoring potential I had, but I'm also of the mindset that we should put AA in a spot where he will develop the most effectively, which I don't believe is on the 3rd line.

Basically...I don't know either, this is an interesting predicament.

Went with AA, a little worried about more minutes with him since I think he told coach last year he was a little nervous when he got more minutes, but his play at the end of the year was outstanding, that goal in New Jersey off the Prust pass toward the end of the year was one of my favorites of the year.

If EC has to be on the first line, then I want Anisimov on the second.

As much as I'd like it to happen, I can't see Anisimov on the 2nd line this year. I really don't see Prospal being started on the 3rd line.

Are we moving forward? Is the youth being served? AA on the second line unless he absolutely bombs. Hell, down the stretch last year, Shelley-AA-Prust basically was the second line anyway.

Prospal starts on 3rd line LW and is ready to jump up to replace whichever of our top 6 LWs or Cs get hurt/underperform.

This.

AA is going to be a major component of this team and he needs to be given the oppurtunity to take the next step. If he isn't ready for it, then fine. Prospal will be ready to be shifted anywhere where needed.

I just can't see Prospal being a 3rd liner on this team.

I don't see Prospal, @ 35, even playing much center for this team this year.

That's where he played the last half of last season...put up 17 goals in 51 games. Once, he adjusted to playing there, it actually suited his game better than the center position.

I don't want to see Vinny on the second line, not sure AA is still ready for top six ice time. At this point in time I am thinking that White may very well develop great chemistry with Dubi on the second line!

Prospal isn't going to start the season on the third line. Thats absurd.

I like Artem as much as the next guy but if you insist on putting Frolov at 1st line LW and Dubi at 2nd, chemistry be damned, then Prospal has to center the 2nd line.

I think Artem will be on the 2nd line next year. His line basically developed into our 2nd line last year anyways.

He's our future top 2 center and sather and co. actually seem to be focusing on the kids....if nothing else he will definitely be given the opportunity to get that spot.

I surprised at all the love for prospal on here....he had a good season for us last year but completely faded down the stretch.....and anisimov picked up a lot of that slack

I wouldn't be surprised to see Prospal as 2nd line RW at some point, especially if MZA does not win a job in camp.

I don't think Torts will start with Frolov and Gabo on the same line. And why Prospal couldn't play on the wing? Knowin Torts, i don't think we will see the same lineup every game.
