Dallas-New Jersey

What I see in New Jersey is a team that has tremendous firepower, but lacks the toughness that may be necessary to compete in the Eastern Conference. Adding a player of Morrow's magnitude may be just what the doctor ordered.

To Dallas: F Travis Zajac
2nd round pick '11

To New Jersey: F Brendan Morrow

Not that NJ would want to deal Zajac (they don't), but it would definitely be Dallas adding some sweetner to that deal rather than NJ.

Clearly. There's no way NJD would do this. Of course as a Stars fan I would be thrilled, even swapping the draft pick.

Edit: New Jersey has tremendous firepower? news to me

You folks are undervaluing the importance of having a clutch playoff performer, even if Zajac is a better player. Morrow will be their to provide in the clutch when it counts.

If NJ's trading Zajac for a "clutch" guy, they can do better than Morrow.

What's with the hatred of Morrow on these boards? Even with my Columbus proposal, he was getting eaten alive.

Look at the Devils center depth after Travis Zajac and Jason Arnott and tell me you'd still be ok with your horrid proposal.

so wait, we make our weakness worse by trading our #1 and getting ANOTHER left wing, while dallas deals their captain and gains another top-flight centre

Bretzky29, please put your CBJ avatar back on so people don't go thinking these are Stars fans making this stuff up.

This is twice in the past few days you are proposing teams to move young centers plus for him. I like him that much, but I realize it's not realistic for him to garner that kind of return.

ADD: It's not Morrow hatred, it's proposal hatred. Why do you think Brassard plus or Zajac plus for Morrow makes sense? I don't think NJ fans need to posture up about who wins the 'my player is better, younger and cheaper' argument because you won't see a Stars fan on here who will try to make that case for Morrow. For what Morrow gives you he has value, but if you want delusional valuations and justifications I suggest getting involved in discussions on the Leaf board.

The "G" in Gretzky made him Great, but I suppose with a "B" he would have been a Buffoon.....?

sad sad sad proposal but its closer than Talbot for Dubinsky (the soft one i mean) I wonder which one of the Kost brothers he'll be proposing for Crosby next....?

I can't tell if you're serious or not. Kovalchuk isn't signed, and your team was 19th in GPG. I'm not poo pooing the Devils. I just think it's a bit of an exaggeration to use the phrase "tremendous firepower."
