Thank God.

Lidge's command is just pitiful at this point.

Might be the best outing of the year even with the hit.

A few more saves in a row and we'll be calling it "effectively wild."

Funny that we finally give Roy some good run support and he starts to struggle. Still, massive K to get out of that 7th, good stuff from Madson, and Lidge was enough.

It would be one thing if his command was a problem down low... but he's leaving everything like belt-to-letters high. That's just begging to be crushed. I'm really amazed he managed to get out of that inning.

That was way too close. But a win is a win.

159/198 and i missed some really easy ones.

171/198. Not surprising I forgot Wally Backman. WALLY BACKMAN?!? Thank god I don't remember him as our starting 2b in '91.

How about some of our opening day starters...
Omar Daal
Robert Person
El Sid
and the immortal Floyd Youmans!!!

I took a shot on Ruffin and got him right.

Fun quiz. Just shows how really bad some of those lineups were.

After I talked up our postseason chances, Brad Lidge reminds us why even if we get in, we probably won't go anywhere.

And btw, couldn't we have gotten Morrow in the Lee trade?

Yeah...astounding performance today aside, he's still got question marks just as any other prospect, and the Phillies probably didn't want to deal with his so soon.

Morrow was unreal today. He ended up with 137 pitches because he had so many strikeouts and in the 7th the announcers were wondering if Cito was going to pull him. I was glad he didn't pull him after the hit and gave him the chance to finish it off. Crazy weekend, yesterday 17-11 and today 1-0.

If you're referring to Morrow, I don't think he was, he's had the stuff, just needs the coaching and control.

If you're referring to Lidge, **** isn't as bad as diarrhea, but it's still ****.

Lidge's season last year was statistically one of the worst, if not the worst, relief seasons in the history of baseball.

I'll repost it, some may have missed it. I'm pretty curious to see what you all can get.

Oh, was referring to Lidge... and it's a far from ideal situation. Last year he was absolutely brutal, however. This year... he just doesn't seem to have any confidence in what he's doing.

I think there's a legitimate argument that we win the WS last year if Lidge had his **** together.

142/198...Pretty good I guess for being born 3 years into the quiz.

2000
CF Doug Glanville
LF Ron Gant
3B Scott Rolen
C Mike Lieberthal
2B Kevin Jordan
1B Rico Brogna
RF Kevin Sefcik
SS Desi Relaford
P Andy Ashby

And the Phils made their slogan "Bring It On" that year...

Oh yeah, I mean, potentially 2-2 going into Game 5 with Lee going for us....a lot to like there.

That's one of the reasons I think we could win it this year, healthy, the offense should be better, and the starting pitching should be better. But who knows?

Funny how we were concerned around this time last year about being too lefty oriented with starters Lee, Hamels, Happ, Moyer (though in BP by now). And of course Utley, Howard, Raul as LH lineup regulars.

This year we have only Hamels in the rotation, and might be considered lefty deprived as we go up against the Dodgers with LH bats Ethier, Loney, and Posednik and all RH pitchers making the starts for us (making it look even more like Bastardo will get called up to "complement" Romero). And thanks to injuries, Raul is our only regular LH batter now. Just thought it was amusing.

ESPN says Morrow's one hitter yesterday was the best pitching performance this year.

Halladay's perfect game was #3.

17 K's is pretty amazing, almost 2 K's an inning. What was #2? Galaraga's blown perfect game?

I'd probably say that Morrow's was the best. Despite the perfect games being thrown.

Morrow's masterpiece bettered only by Halladay in Year of Pitcher
