Don't think that will work. Sabres go from 8 to 9 NHL defensemen and add about 4 million in salary.

We're set on D.

The only player of vancouver I'd be interested in is Kesler. But I guess you guys in vancouver don't want to read any Kesler trade proposals.

Proposal's for Kesler only make sense if we're getting back a #2 center...
Or giving a d man along with Kesler to get a great d man and a so so center back/thinking Hodgson can step up.

I think Bieksa could be a valuable addition to the blueline, but the OP's deal makes absolutely no sense when we are already overloaded with defensemen on the NHL roster and we cannot take on that much salary. I really don't see us adding a right side defenseman like Bieksa with Myers, Montador, and Rivet solidifying the right side and Sekera showing in the past that he can play the right side as well.

Yeah, after Regier said he's already over the allotted budget, it probably has to be a dollar-for-dollar trade. I was hoping for Bieksa, but that isn't realistic now that they have eight defensemen who could make the roster.

Sadly so, along with Kaberle, Regehr, Goligoski, Giordano, Wisniewski, Liles, Mitchell and every other defenseman lobbied for on these MB's since the summer began. It seems more of a given that a subtraction on defense will occur first.

Although not a bad proposal, that trade wouldn't make sense for us at all...
