But it isnt too much for a healthy scratch? Not sure I understand the logic here.

Our best technical lineup has Avery in it, as well as Tod White over Brian Boyle. I think the team is going to try to field the best team available regardless of salary, as is Tort's mantra.

Which is why folks that are convinced Boogaard will play almost every game may very well be wrong.

jeebus guys its Avery. Prust can play 4th line c. Boogard on the right. That line is tough as nails and 2/3 can pop a few goals. White gets in when Boogie sits

I love Prust but this spot has to be Avery's. He's a much better player overall. So are Prust and Boogard going to platoon the RW with Boyle in the middle?

Avery-White-Prust with Boogy subbing in for whichever of Avery or Prust is playing poorly whenever we play a team with a goon.

Slats has GOT to be considering another move, no?

Avery-White-Prust is a solid line.

Of course we've gone this route before with the "top 9" players on the 4th line and it doesn't seem to work, but White I imagine has to be more useful than Boyle.

Prust is a natural right wing.

And I think everyone's overlooking White's injuries from last season, they're still lingering

Boogaard - Avery - Prust

Sounds good to me. White is going to start the season injured, and that line looks like it could beat the pulp out of anything in it's way. Besides, Boogaard is a natural LW, Avery can play C, and Prust is a natural RW.

Went with Avery. Prust is on the right. That means Boyle in the middle and Boogie as a spare forward.

If Boyle is the odd man out I can see Avery playing C and Weise LW - when Boogie isn't playing.

Avery. He gives us flexibility insofar as in a pinch he can be bumped up to a higher line. Boogaard doesn't give us that.

not advocating avery as a healthy scratch. in my humble opinion, if he doesn't earn a gig in the top 9, he should be sent to hartford.

Awards:
Prust. Avery has played center in the NHL. He should center that line.

That 4th line looks pretty good to me.

avery is often a liability as much as he is an asset

on the 4th line his talents are wasted

I don't think Christensen makes the team to begin with, let alone plays top line center. His issue has been consistency, not potential talent. So I think one of the other top 8 moves up to fill Christensen's spot thus moving Avery to the 3rd line opposite Callahan which is a nice fit for the two of them.

Such a move also allows Prust/Boogard to fill out the 4th line with Boyle being the center.

However due to the voting Avery seems to belong on the 4th line. C'est la guerre

There are something like 5-10 combos that would make sense given the players remaining.

Wouldn't it be interesting if one of the young forwards (other than MZA) actually forced his way into the lineup, making this even murkier than it already is?

I thought Prust played RW. I picked Avery regardless.

it'll be avery-white-prust assuming white is 100% AND MZA makes the team. too many people have penciled him into that 2nd line RW spot, he may need some adjustment in the AHL. If he does impress, that leaves boyle/boogard as spare forwards which I don't mind at all. Redden off the team give us plenty of space to make that happen.

edit: I'd also like to see avery-white-prust play more than 6 minutes a game, that line is basically a solid 3rd line that could piss off alot of opposing players.

Nothing Boogard does on the ice is natural.

I don't see ANY scenario where Boyle makes the team and Christensen doesn't out of camp.

why do so many people think Prust plays LW and who would be the 4th line RW otherwise? Weise?
