I voted Boyle simply because I would like to see what he brings to the table this year. It is really his job to lose. Last season there were flashes of the player that (I think) the Rangers believe he can be.
Although White would be a steadier player to have at the position he is on the last few legs of a respected career. Boyle will be playing his second full NHL season.
Really can go either way but I'd like to see how (if) he improves from last season.

voted for Todd White. send Boyle to Hartford. he is useless. i wouldnt care if someone claimed him.
I think this may be a failed experiment with Boyle so i went with White. I would love nothing more than Boyle to become the player he can be and I would gladly eat crow if he did... but I can't see it.
I'm going with White. At least White's proven he's got a scoring touch. Boyle I'm not crazy about, but if he wins the spot out of camp I won't complain. There's something this organization sees in him and I myself would enjoy seeing him reach his full potential because he certainly is a big body and fairly young.
Absolutely Brian Boyle. He's 25 and a big body, getting progressively great at the pk (and no one really talks about it), and shows some really crazy flashes of him putting all of his tools together sometimes. The big kids are crazy in their development, you just don't know when they'll realize how to use their gifts.
White on the 4th line gives him a chance to maybe find his groove again from 2 seasons ago, and I think he brings more even with limited minutes than does Boyle. White does not have a huge history of being a pk guy but he averages about a minute a game which is fine for what we need him for.
Boyle at 1/5th of White's cap hit any day of the week.
Agreed in general, but if they do in fact demote Redden, that leaves a fair amount of cap space. If they're not going to use it for anything else (at least not right away) and I'm Torts and I have access to Todd White, I probably take him over Boyle - unless a whole different Brian Boyle shows up to camp this year...

Nothing like calling a 25 year old who had his first season with more than 28 games played in the NHL with us last season a "failed experiment", especially in favor of a 35 year old who won't even be healthy when camp starts.
Other, PRUST.................He can play C. He did it in Calgary
Yeah, but is he good at it? Can he play the position in his own end? Face-offs?
He's probably much better at playing the wing. If we go Avery-Boyle-Prust then have Boyle scratched for one of them to move over to center for a few shifts when Boogard plays, so be it. I don't think Avery or Prust should be the full-time center for the 4th line.
Avery-Boyle-Prust is a line we can give a lot more ice time than Avery-Prust-Boogard.

Let me tell ya, I saw a lot, and I mean a lot, of Brian Boyle in the NCAA, and hes what I call a "Overage NCAA superstar"
His size and age gave him an advantage in an NCAA league that lacks NHL speed, and its physical nature played right into Boyle's game.
Most of his offensive production came when he played defense, yes, defense, on the PP and sometimes at even strength, which was more a result of a simple low slapper from the point than it was having any sort of scoring touch.
His pivotal skating speed is inadequate for the PK, no matter how much they try. His size is no more useful than Gino Artyukhin's, because even if he drove to the net he doesnt have the hands to finish the play 95% of the time.
