Home playoff attendance question

When the Isles have made the playoffs here recently this decade were the home games sellouts? I ask because even in spite of all the losing and horrible pr the fan base has proven it will support meaningful games and tangible progress... I recall the way the old barn was rocking during the series vs. Toronto

Yes they were sellouts, and the place rocked.

Yeah, the Coliseum is a dump because so few care to remember when it was Fort Neverlose - and many can't remember it regardless because it was so long ago. We whipped the **** out of Toronto and they HATED our building.

The noise was amazingly deafening. The crowd rabid and familiar. The place gets packed when there's a reason to go.

Plus, you know, it's almost 40 years old.

Yeah, like Angelina Jolie. The Coliseum needs surgery. But I'll take a playoff round in that wrinkly old dump over one in the Staples Center or Pond or the like. I just watched video of the Maple Leaf Gardens in 1941 (when the Rag$ got spanked by DRW) and fell in love with that old dump. Chicago's dump, Boston's dump....so many dumps.

Sorry, I don't feel anything in the new buildings outside of the smaller bathroom lines and better nachos.

Some of the new buildings, like the United Center or the Bell Centre, are really great hockey venues that still get absolutely deafening.

A lot of them have really sucked the life out of games though.

That's fine. The Coliseum is still 40 years old.

Think she peaked at 30 personally. Her movies improved then.....now it's downhill.

the barn might be old and decrepit and has a horrid food selection (esp last year) but playoff games, boy oh boy is that place rockin'.

a new arena would be really awesome tho

One would be a fool to deny that the old barn is a magical place to be during playoff time despite its age.

However, one would equally be a fool to deny that the place needs an extreme makeover and how.

What do you think this is, New Jersey?

Who do you think we are, Devils fans?

Nassau Coliseum during the 2007 playoffs vs the Sabres was louder than any of the Habs game I have been to including Habs vs Bruins and Habs vs Sens.
