I think one of the major takeaways from an exercise like this is the amount of quality depth we presently have in our system. About 5 years ago, prospects similar to Wilson, Cheverie and Donskoi would have been ranked in the top half of our prospect section. Now they're being pushed to the end of our poll.

Guys like Calla/Collins/Nasby/Globke/Tuma/Glass littered our list whereas now we have Brickley/Dadonov/Petrovic/Shore/Jenks supplement the higher end prospects we have. Maybe it's a bit revisionist to think that these ones stack up far better against our former prospects but it still seems like this organization has made some strides towards a strong pool.

I don't think Glass or Nasby were ever high up on our lists?

Collins was a PPG player for Plymouth. Calla ... i never liked, agreed. Globke, before my time.

The system looks really deep. But, as you suggested, it would be hindsight.

I don't understand how Santorelli could slip out of our top-20... And I don't understand how Salak is ranked, and we may not have space for Cheverie or Plante in our rankings...

The only explanation I have, is that our prospect pool is getting really really deep... Another draft like the last one we had (and picking a potential offensive superstar), and we are the number one organisation in the show !

We only lack one sure-fire go-to guy offensively... Because I'm not sold on Bjugstad, but the kid is growing on me with each days passing !

Either way... I voted for Santorelli, add Lapoint !

Check the lists mi amigo, 2006 list had Glass(20th) and Nasby(14th). Calla was 11th I think and Collins was 10th on that list with like you mentioned PPG with Plymouth(albeit a smaller sample size). I can't believe Globke was on it too(he WAS good for ND for a period of time but did absolutely nothing in the AHL).

We're both in agreement that this pool definitely looks to have the quality from a deeper standpoint.

think about what JM inherited and how far this pool has come. tallon's done very well so far but if he was stepping into that mess...

100% agreed here 0. JM has started the prospect infusion and Tallon has added his wrinkle to the argument. It was definitely started in the JM era as you alluded to with Markstrom, Robak, Dadonov, Ellerby, McArdle, etc.
