Zherdev and Carter also need contracts. No way all four come back unless they have sub-par years and resign for similar contracts.
yeah, but what team is going to offer sheet carter, I mean I don't see Homer matching anything above 6,5 mill and that right there is two 1sts a 2nd and a 3rd (or something like that) and I don't think any team is willing to give up that much.

Imo Leino will be on his way out at the end of the season unfortunately.

Leino strikes me as someone who may take a discount to stay with the Flyers. He seems like the kind of players who signs an affordable deal. I'm expecting around 40 points out of him and think he will probably accept a 2 year 4 million dollar deal.

Leino will accept the league minimum under the condition we change the name to the "Villedelphia Flyers."

Definitely didn't see this failure coming at all or anything. I'm sure nobody on the board did.

People always like to say "hindsight is 20/20" on here to defend Homer, but when a bunch of idiots posting on a hockey board know a signing is going to be a failure, it's disappointing when the GM can't figure it out.

While I get what you're saying, the people calling ******** on moves such as these for the last two (or more) years haven't been wrong too many times. It's not us who are the idiots.

i expected laziness, but i sure didnt expect him to make zero attempt to work inside the system. sorry zherdev, but that triple axle ending in you getting checked 5 times a period isn't what the Flyers do.

There's a malicious part of me that really enjoys seeing him get hit in the open ice.

I haven't given up on him. All it takes is one guy to get hurt, and I'm holding onto the slimmer of hope that he'll care enough to take his opportunity when he gets it.

Let's not ignore two facts here though, 1) signing Gagne to an extension was inadvisable/financially unfeasible 2) he has been hurt this year and done nothing when he was in the lineup.

My position is that he should have been brought back for the final year of his deal and then let go at the end of the year. That didn't see to be what he wanted though (major reason he chose TB was extension potential) and hockey-wise it wouldn't have been as smart as I thought because he's had more injuries and mixed form to this point in Tampa.

I highly doubt Gagne has zero points playing on Richards' wing like usual if he were still here.

Also, the injury is because he was run into the boards and hurt his neck. That could happen to anyone at anytime.

What? The only reason he waived his NTC is because he was made to feel like a piece of **** by the glorious folks in our front office. Gagne wanted to be here. He even told them no the first time. It's not his fault he was traded.

why would Gagne come back here after being treated as unwanted and traded for a pile of ****. I will never forgive Holmgren for that ****ass trade.

you really think it's "just a sore neck"

highly doubt it. with his concussion history, it's probably related

To Toronto for the 3rd liner we should've signed, Clarke MacArthur?

MacArthur won't continue his awesome early run, but he's exactly the type of player we need.

That said, I'm not sure if he's a significant upgrade to Powe or Nodl; probably a little.

Believe it or not, Nodl/Powe and a Maroon type is exactly what we need, so we're lacking a Maroon.

JVR picking it up would be a huge blessing though. He'll pick it up soon. I have no doubt about that.
