Ribs is here until the deadline when a team needing acenter may be interested. Ribs seems to be an acquired taste.

I'm perfectly fine with just keeping Ribs. He got amazing talent and is very creative. Maybe just maybe the hockey gods will smile upon us and have Guletzan get called up and coach the big team Man that'd be great.

Crawford isn't the problem.
If it's in reference to Ribeiro at all, Ribeiro is his own worst enemy.

Though Guletzan could end up being Crawford's replacement at some point, I don't think Crawford will be fired next year maybe after next season if the Stars are terrible.

To be fair, none of us know what new ownership may want to do. Say the Stars are sold before or during the early part of the season. In all likelihood new ownership would roll with everything management-wise for at least this season. But say the Stars fail to make the playoffs yet again. I realize Nieuwendyk and company will have only been here for two of those seasons, and that they won't have had as high of payroll as the prior regime (although Tip's last year he coached a team whose on-ice payroll minus those in the infirmary was probably less than what Crawford/Nieuwendyk have had). But from a more or less objective perspective, new ownership may look at things and say that neither management or the coaching staff are getting things done.

It's entirely possible that the direction of things changes yet again when he whose money is running the show is someone other than TMF'NH. I'm not saying that this should happen, only that it is a possibility. Nobody's job should be safe. If the team doesn't make significant strides in 2010-11 everything should be looked at.

It's far too early to say who is or isn't safe this year, the next, or the year after that.
