At the end of two periods, the Isles have the lead 2-1 with 1:07 of PP time remaining to start the third. Great job by the Chow-Yash-Kvasha line...2-1 Isles

Good second peirod. One goal seem to really get Czerkawski and his line flying and confident. Another low-scoring game that has fit most of the preseason games so far.

They brought up a very good point that all of this (5-0) has been done on the road and not at the Coliseum.

Seems like Weideman is just dying to call a fight soon. Each time that there is a scuffle he gets all excited :p

Parrish nets one from a Blake with Parrish right in his office at the top of the crease. The Minnesota connection gives the Isles the lead, 3-1

Parrish from the office 3-1 Islanders. First preseason goal.

Assist Bates and Blake.

Time for the Isles to apply the trap and pounce on mistakes.

Flyers go back to the powerplay. Papineau heads to the box for holding the stick. This is the Flyers 6th PP. They are 1-5 with the man-advantage

The speed of Jason Blake sends Eric Desjardins to the box as he hooks him from behind. The Isles will go on the PP in 24 seconds. It will be their 5th. They are 0-4 on the PP

This is what I'm looking for...some serious pressure and the Isles holding the puck in and wearing down the opposition. They keep this up they will get another goal and really put the game away...

8:39 left, looking good.

Weimer gets called for a cross-check. It's a 2-minute minor at 14:09. This is the Flyers 7th PP. They are 1-6

Asham scores!!! 4-2 Isles with 2:14 left in the 3rd. They needed this badly to hold the lead as Philly seemed like they were coming on strong late in the 3rd. Philly will now take their 30-second timeout with less than 2 minutes left

Announcers sound pretty excited. Asham 4-2, good call.

Do not recall any Asham goals last season from the outside.

Would not bet on a multiple goal game from Czerkawski last season.

Time for the open net? Czerkawski hat-trick?

Esche now is on the bench as Philly will go with the extra-attacker.

Over all a good game agains a tired and young Flyers squad. I'm mostly just happy how good the goaltending has been in the preseason.

As Howie Rose would say "Put it in the books!!! Islanders win!!!" Isles are now 6-0 on the preseason, ALL of them coming on the road. Great game by all and especially from Garth Snow with 38 saves. Goals by Asham, Parrish, and two from Czerkawski. Here are your 3 stars:
1) Mariusz Czerkawski
2) Garth Snow
3) Jason Blake

Thanks Bill. It's always appreciated to have you helping out. I hope to be there on Saturday and hope to see the end of a perfect preseason!

Great job guys! Again, just scrolled through the highlights late night...

Well, 6-0 on the ROAD. 1st preseason game at the Coliseum. Nassau wasn't very kind to NYI last year, so let's hope we change that this year.

Is Weimer taking stupid penalites?

Seems like DiPietro gets the nod on Saturday...good for me b/c i'll be there, gotta love that full priced preseason game in season tix package -the NHL scam! (other leagues do it too!)

Has anyone noticed that Parrish has been a ghost this preseason? - netted one tonight, but i hope he is at least making a difference without the puck.
