No Saturday home games?

I assume this was covered when the schedule came out, but I missed it.

The only sat home game is the last game of the season against the devils and most of the Sunday games are at night. That is terrible for people who fall into one of three categories: 1) they want to bring kids or 2)they live a good distance away and have jobs or 3) season ticket holders who sell weekend games because they generally sell for a premium.

I have a daughter who actually pays attention and cheers.

I have a bunch of my friends who I go to games with live far away and have jobs.

And yes I try to sell some games at a premium to make up for the games I take a loss on.

I can understand not wanting a ton of weekend day games, but there needs to be some if the next generation of Ranger fans is going to go to any games.

Has this been complained about (or applauded) already?

Grrr.. I live in central NJ, so that's a pain. I have a train station nearby, but it takes about 90 min to get to MSG.. so if it's during the week I have to take off early from work, and if it's a Sunday I can't go out to bars/clubs after.. I'd rather have an afternoon game Sat/Sun.

Not to mention the trains heading north are few and far between after 5pm. And if you miss the late train your screwed.

My son is 9, so 7pm game is fine on the weekend but now instead of $20 for the train it's gonna be, $20gas, $30parking, $8tunnel.

The Dolans giving the city kickbacks and workarounds for going easy on the food stand violations or what?

It has been published before in years past that the Rangers actually request weeknight games. They always try for 3 or 4 Sunday afternoon games after the football season and 1-2 5pm games when Monday is a holiday. The reason I have seen is that most STH work in Manhattan and prefer the weeknight games. I remember when they started games at 7:30 and the main difference I remember is that the fans had an extra 30 minutes to drink before game time.

This really stinks for the future Rangers fans. The corporate seat is more important then getting kids to the game plain and simple. Thats not a good way to build your fanbase IMO. Passion is what sells for this sport. Not many non-hockey fans are interested in attending a hockey game. You have to get them hooked at the grassroots level. No Saturday afternoon games = not cool - whether its a conscious decision or not.

The atmosphere is always lagging on Saturday day games and the team is usually flat. Not the worst thing.

Actually the more I think about it, this does seem true from my memory. Maybe this is for the best.

I'm actually kind of happy considering I would have missed every single saturday game stuck in class. But I'm still going to miss all the Tuesday and Thursday games, which sucks.

I hate Saturday matinee games with a passion. The atmosphere is always terrible. With that said I recognize them as a great game for Dad's to take little kids to and help grow the support base. Therefor I just don't go to them.

There are two reason why they don't like to have games on Saturday at the Garden: the first is because they can schedule something else (like a concert) which will bring in more money. The second reason, is that the league likes to have the Rangers playing away from home, to help attendence.

As for not liking children at the game--tough. We were all children once and unless you take them sometimes, they're never going to become fans of the game. Hockey has enough problems, they need the next generation to love the game.

I feel for fans who want to bring their kids to a game on a weekend afternoon. Because I'm one of them.

I don't feel for those who want to "make a premium" on those tickets.

Terrible scheduling by the organization here...or just MSG in general. Really dropping the ball. I love seeing the kids at the games. They love it, they are into it, and it's a great experience overall for them.

I like that whoever pointed out the "roszival sucks" from the 300's and I couldn't agree anymore. Sucks to hear idiots that can't control thier tongues when the little ones are about. What's worse is the look on the dads face that just spent $300 to get his kids in there to begin with.

Back to topic...MSG drops the scheduling ball here.

When you buy tickets to the game especially at these prices you are entitled to say certain things.

Certain profanities may be extreme but Roszival sucks...if you can't handle that dont bring your kids to the game
