went with Boogaard....but i really had to think about this one.

i figure itll make Henrik and Gabby happy to have him on the roster, and that might be worth more than what Boyle can bring to the team.

Boogaard. And I should point out to the "The Rangers wouldnt scratch a 1.6 mil forward player", folks

Voros, who made 1 mil, was a scratch for a lot of games

Eminger, who makes 1.15 this year, will likely be a 7th dman and scratched most of the year.

Brashear, who made 1.4 mil, was banished from the team, and

Kotalik, who made 3 mil, was told to waive his NTC or he would never play again.

The Rangers could also carry a 23 man roster with Boyle up as well.

just checked...we can carry him, but cap space will be spilling over to next season...and i dont think anyone wants that with all the ppl we will have to re-sign. Without Boyle, and if Staal gets right at 4mil, the team can barely fit without any spillage.

Boyle brings nothing - totally useless player. Send him to the Pack to be Redden's mate.

hes a solid 4th line center. nothing more, but nothing less either.

good pker, plays responsibly in his own zone. i dont ask for much more than that from my 4th liners...plus, he still has upside, though he probably never taps into it.

Regardless, I would like to see them try to keep Boyle around. Never know when a 4th liner could get hurt, and I like him better as an every game substitute than Boogaard.

That is with Gilroy and McDonagh on defense, I assume, and I trust your math.

Prospal's bonuses were probably put in his contract just for something like this, however wasting next years cap on keeping a 14th forward I would agree is not great asset management.

it would be the roster we have now plus staal @ 4, gilroy, mdz, rozsival, mcd, eminger, and girardi.

He's a solid 4th line center that cycles the puck well, and he kills penalties. He randomly shows that he has amazing hands from time to time too, it's a shame he hasn't been able to do it consistently on the NHL level.

I get that some people don't like him because he's a big dude that doesn't really play up to his size (although I personally think he's not that bad in the corners) but he's not "totally useless."

If Boyle's totally useless, Boogard is completely, totally, 110 percent, utterly useless.

My definition of a valid 4th line center is an energy guy or PK - but someone that brings something. Boyle scores 4 goals a year , doesn't use his size ,is not involved. Todd White as a 4th line center will be a big improvement. For me Betts was better than Boyle.

Boogard should be dressed when we are playing against a team who has a serious enforcer or against teams such as the Ilses, Flyers, and Devils... This team lacked toughness last year and that was one of the main problems...

With Boyles size you would think he would be a little more aggressive and physical but i didn't see much of that last year.. and he's very slow... he should be cut loose

I would have to go with Boogard..
