- Nashville News affecting NE Team

Quote:
I am just getting this up fast, because something could break shortly. Can't get into too many details, and it may not even happen today...so this is just a quick alert.

I know it's Eklund but I do feel like the NHL has been too quiet this off season and something is going to happen that's pretty big. The only thing I can think of would be an offer sheet. The person in the NE that is big that would get an offer sheet would be Price. Doesn't Nashville have 2 good goalies???

Could be Staal if he means around the North East in general.

In addition, even if their goalie situation wasn't in good hands, why give up the picks, a high salary and be hated by other GM's, when you could just sign Niemi as an UFAgent

Too get a goalie that's actually good?

It's not gonna be Price, that's stupid.

As always, Eklund's just shooting in the dark, blindfolded. If Nashville does something soon he can always find a connection to the NE later.

This guy is wearing his shirt backwards most of the time (Andy Sutton is a great puck-moving defenceman to help teams transition game) but maybe this is one of those times when he puts it on right? We'll see.

Well, atleast Ek narrowed it down to a 3rd of the league.

Montreal
Boston
Ottawa
NY Rangers
NY Islanders
Philadelphia
Toronto
Buffalo
Pittsburg

I mean, really. This is like saying something big is going to happen west of the Mississippi River.

So are we back to taking Eklund rumors at face value? Which is a 180 from when Eklund rumors would result in a an automatic "Well, we know where he's NOT going, now".

You do realize there is a Northeast Division - Montreal, Boston, Buffalo, Ottawa and Toronto.

Erat for Kostitsyn one for one.

Andrei joins his brother and Plekanec gets a countryman on his wing.

He is a rookie user and probably new to hockey. Not up to speed with divisions and all that.

Well, considering I didn't see the word "DIVISION" after Northeast, a person could take it either as geography or as a division.

But I'll tell ya what, I'll give ya the benefit of the doubt. Here's my EK scoop for ya.

Thomas from Boston for a 1st and 3rd.
or......wait.........
Kaberle , I kid, I kid
or.....maybe.......
Regier kissed Dumont's buttocks to come back to Buffalo?

And the list can go on.

No, no, the Bridge already serves Pepsi. Now if they managed to find a way to get a Tim's and a Harvey's franchise in the arena.....

Yes I DO like Canadian fast food. Don't judge me.

Well, I am new to the whole HF forums thing, but I've been a Sabres season ticket holder for 21 years now. I am new to the game of hockey, all them years I thought I was watching lacrosse

The Leafs have a lot of D, the Preds have 5 signed with Weber, Suter, Klein, Parent and Bouillon. Franson is the 5th option, maybe the Leafs are willing to trade a blueliner to the Preds for a forward or prospect?

Not like that seems earth shattering though.

You should have the skinny on the Habs, what are they in need of that Nashville would part with? It could be your team involved, no?

Honestly, Kaberle would be a good fit with Nashville. But this is Eklund we are talking about. The guy is more off than my last psychological exam. I love the guy for sticking with Nashville through the troubles but geez.

Nashville's needs in order:

vet back up goalie

Vet d-man who can suck up 18 minutes a game

respect from media because let's face it, Canadian media won't cover southern teams and American media is incompetent.

Forward wise we got a lot of depth and frankly, quite happy with what we got. Cal O'Reilly is most likely gone so if anyone would like a #2 center they can have him.
