Nashville's needs in order:

vet back up goalie

Vet d-man who can suck up 18 minutes a game

respect from media because let's face it, Canadian media won't cover southern teams and American media is incompetent.

Forward wise we got a lot of depth and frankly, quite happy with what we got. Cal O'Reilly is most likely gone so if anyone would like a #2 center they can have him.
Buffalo would be looking for center's, if they plan to move Connolly or Roy.
But, I digress, you are 100% correct, this Eklund we are talking about.

Really? He's a good player and all, but what the hell has Martin Erat done in this league to merit a NMC?

Not like that seems earth shattering though.
No way the Preds are standing in the way of Franson making the team full-time in a top-4-role.

But they do have too many forwards on the Preds, though.

Hamrlik for Dumont

Nashville has the cap-space and the need.

Montreal gets a hometown top 6 guy with some size.

The Erat and Legwand contracts were panic moves when Leipold was selling the team. They appeared to be cornerstones of the foundation when they signed the contracts but slightly digressed. Kostitsyn is the hope to jump start Legwand.

We want SK out of his brothers shadow and away from his problems in Montreal so he actually has a chance to be successful here in Nashville. I will 100% guarantee if there is a deal in place, its not for AK

What would it take to snatch up Mike Fisher?
If it was Boston, who would they be looking to move?? fowards?

I can see this being true because Poile has not really done much to upgrade the pres from last years infamous 'nother first round exit. Losing Hamhuis, Ellis, and Arnott and bringing in Lombardi is not very much of an upgrade...

I agree!

Currently the only four Predators with clauses are Sullivan, Dumont, and Erat with NMC's and Legwand has an NTC.

Savard to Nashville.

Question: Does anyone actually go to EKlund's site? I've never found the need because everything he writes down is on multiple message boards almost immediately.

I guess somebody has to go there then.

Way to go!

Lets wait and see. Someone needs to set up an Eklund rumor counter thread.

Nashville needs some forward depth, Montreal has extra forwards and Dmen who could be moved in a multi-player trade of sorts?

The last thing Nashville needs is forward depth.

You should start the Anti-Eklund website. This post is an instant classic.

Might have the cap space, but Nashville does not have the budget for Hamrlik...nor will anyone have a higher cap hit than $4.5 million for the Preds until Weber is re-signed...

Also, Dumont hasn't even left Nashville the past three summers. He has been training hard all summer here in Nashville and is very committed to retiring in Nashville once his playing days are through.

As much as J.P. Dumont is the wild card in the Predators lineup entering training camp...he's not going anywhere...

Maybe Montreal will try to pry Blake Geoffrion in a trade to bring back the Hall of Fame Name to the team???

By my count the Predators currently have 21 forwards coming to camp that could see NHL ice time this season. I think they have "forward depth" covered...
