I would say Lombardi, usually when we get a free agent they do better here under Trotz then elsewhere.
But there are around 10 different players that have a shot: Lombardi, Dumont, Legwand, Hornqvist, Sullivan, Weber, Wilson, Erat all have a shot at leading in points in my mind, though some have less of a shot than others.
FWIW, I'm gonna say Lombardi. I think after a good year last season with Phoenix that he will come to Nashville and thrive in a little larger role this season.
OK, I'll admit it...I'm late with the thread today, but "It's Five O' Clock Somewhere"...
... well, it's a step in the right direction.
I think it really depends on who plays with Lombardi. Assuming Sullivan and Dumont aren't reunited, one of them will likely play with Lombardi and I suspect that player is our leading scorer.
Who will be the points leader for the Preds this year?
Now that Horny has his contract (which almost seems like a steal for Nashville) will he lead us in points this year or will someone else step up and give him a run?
Like everyone's saying it's really a toss-up this year. If all goes right I think we'll have atleast two 60+ point players (Erat and Lombardi) and about five or six 50+ point scorers from the forwards alone (fingers crossed )
Erat-Goals
Lombardi-Assists
Lombardi-Points
If the line is Sullivan-Lombardi-Hornqvist I'm not so sure Hornqvist leads the team in anything. My feeling is Erat would lead in goals, and Dumont would lead in assists.
If the line is Erat - Lombardi - Hornqvist then I see it being Erat in total points and Hornqvist in goals.
It's pretty absurd that a simple thread with the question of who will lead the Predators in scoring this season can be so derailed that it winds up closed. I think we're better than that. I know we're better than that. Thread cleaned up and re-opened.
I'm predicting Erat, which I have conflicting feelings about. Either Erat steps up and proves to be a top line performer (yeah!) or the rest of the offense underperforms and Erat leads with 60 or so
