Assuming he isn't traded (which I don't see happening this season), Staal-Rozsival should be our #1 ES pairing.

Im going to go with Michael Del Zotto. I think his defensive inadequacies are best offset by putting him with Staal, and the offensive game that he brings is too valuable to be sitting on the bench for most of the game.

Well, we have two people so far who think the best thing to do for Del Zotto in his second season is put him against other teams top offensive players, while switching him to a side of defense that he hasn't played in 5 years.

It will be Rozsival, then Girardi, then Rozsival again, as it was last season.

Rozy and MDZ were terrible together. Staal-Rozy, MDZ-Girardi, McDonagh-Gilroy/Eminger

To me, Rosy played MUCH better hockey with Staal as his partner. I vote Michal.

I think Torts likes/has the most confidence in Staal+Girardi.

Staal - DG as top pairing shutdown set that logs top minutes against other team's top line.

Rosie, I see no other alternative. No other D-man on the team has proved to be able to handle the minutes a top pairing D-man has to handle.

Rozy by a mile imo.

Gives us the best balance and the best possible play from the defense.

I strongly agree with you, but that leaves us a lot weaker with the rest of Dmen ,Unfortunatly DG gets the short straw with the roaming MDZ, I hope Torts uses the Staal-DG combo against the top lines when they come to MSG. DG should shine this year with the contract out of his way however if MDZ hasnt learn to pass the puck quicker and shorter on the breakouts DG will suffer again with many 3-1 and 2-1! I feel both DG and Staal havnt blossomed into their full potential yet as a result of their playing partners.

Oilers fan here, I'm just wondering how many points are you expecting from Rozsival next year? Is it possible that he can become a 38-40 point defencemen he was a few years ago, or does he just suck now?

he doesnt get 1st pairing PP minutes anymore, so its highly doubtful he'll hit 40 points or there abouts. with that said he most definitely does not suck. at this point i would be very very very hesitant to trade him, even with his salary. hes solid in all 3 zones, and aside from a 5-10 bad game stretch he has every year, he is our most consistent defenseman night in and night out not named Marc Staal.

Yeah I read an article on him and heard that Rangers fans were pleased with his play during the 2nd half of the season, correct me if I'm wrong but how many points do you expect Rozsival to put up?
