Viktor Tikhonov?

Anybody interested in Tikhonov who said that he wants to come back in the NHL but don't want to play for Phoenix anymore?

6'3'' 190lbs, improved his skating, he could be an interesting gamble. Seems that at least 15 teams are already interested in him.

Any interest and if so, what would you be ready to give for him?

I'd be willing to swap Ben Maxwell+ a pick. Phoenix probably wouldn't take it but I'm not sure I'd give up anyone like Patches.

I heard maloney denied that he asked for a trade.

But some thing around Maxwell may work.

I'd definitely give him a shot. He's already got a good rounded defensive game, which would help our lower lines. It's a low risk high reward type of move, hope Gauthier looks into it until the very end.

I respect Chesnokov a whole lot and from his tweets, he has asked for a trade AND from Tikhonov's father, there are around 15 teams interested.

Not sure how I succeeded in missing the trade proposal thread on top of the page......please whoever want to transfer this to that thread....sorry again.

Tikhonov claimed he wanted to be an NHL player and was pretty immersed in the American way of life already when he was drafted (iirc, he's been in the US for a while?)

So this isn't some typical (not to sound racist either) skilled Russian player who's whining for ice time who'll leave for the KHL if he doesn't get it.

I'd definitely be interested.

Definitely take a chance on him. The day AK46's gone. Came into the league to early and for a bad team at the time.

We still need AK, 'cause he's going to get traded for Penner next week.

i think he meant it differently and was probably a translation error on his part. I think that they talked about the possibility of a trade but it looks like he is staying in phoenix.

ABSO****INGLUTELY I love Tikhonov, and I think I can see Gauthier landing him. He is a big hulking powerforward with top6 potential. I've loved him from day 1 and I really would love him in a Habs uniform.

Big two-way player with nice untapped potential are always interesting IMO.

Plus he seem like a Martin type of player which seem to mean alot to the organization right now. He would look nice in a line with Eller and Boyd

For a low pick and a prospect like maxwell it's sure that I would be interested.

Just curious.. what is it about a 2nd round pick that it always gets thrown into deals when someone thinks the player offered is just below the value of the player coming back? Is there no actual player/prospect on our team that is equivalent to a 2nd round pick that could be offered instead?

It's not a first round pick, but it's a good pick that people are more than willing to part with.

well i thought since theres 15 other teams that are competing ..instead if adding a weber or something a 2nd rounder keeps their option open and is much easier for them to have because THEY get to choose what they wanna do with that 2nd rounder

I'd give Maxwell, Carle, Qualier and any below prospect, and any pick 3rd round and under for him. Not all of those, choose one.

I would like to see him in the organization, but I take Maloney's word and think it is a non-issue in regards to a requested trade.

nahh i just think maloney's saying this because then he wouldn't get a full return because other teams would know he HAS to trade him l

my question is is he ready to play in the league yet or would he need to spend a year or maybe 2 in the ahl...if we get him and he's not ready and send him down...is he going to balk and demand a trade or go to russia? i thought when he was drafted he was not ready..but the coyotes rushed him...

I think he'd make a fine goalie coach.

...

Seriously though, he's a good solid prospect, but if there are actually 15 teams interested, we should pass. Whoever gets him will end up vastly over paying.

And if there are 15 teams interested, Maxwell and a 2nd isn't going to get it done.

GOD DAMN IT.. Some people on this board are getting very annoying with all those Andrei Kostitsyn trades. Why would we trade AK (that proved to be a good player, a 20+ goal scorer) for a prospect that has done nothing (his stats are **** btw even if he's a good player)...so even if he has POTENTIEL, we have lots of players with POTENTIEL, dont you think we have enough Prospects?? AK is a key piece of our team if we want to succeed and its not by trading him that we will have success..

1. Potential
2. Andrei Kostitsyn = Enigma with potential.
3. Viktor Tikhonov = Someone I don't know with potential.
4. Swap the 2.
5. No difference. ( Edit: actually probably +cap space )
6. ?
7. Profits anyways.
