Get Out And Learn! registration set for Tuesday morning - August 24th

This is a FANTASTIC program offered by the Predators every year to introduce the area youth to the sport of ice hockey. If you have a kid between the ages of 4 and 7...CHECK IT OUT!!!

Quote:
A busy offseason for the Nashville Predators Amateur and Youth Hockey department continues, as the team has announced that registration for the next session of the Get Out and Learn! (G.O.A.L!) program will begin Tuesday, August 24 at 9 a.m. (CT).

Fresh off of two successful weeks of Predators hockey school, the Amateur and Youth hockey department will put their skates back on for the G.O.A.L! program in late August through September.

The G.O.A.L! program will hit the ice over the course of four Mondays at the A-Game Sportsplex in Franklin. The dates for this session are August 30, September 6, 13, and 20. The young hockey players will be on the ice from 4:25-5:15 p.m.

A major benefit to those new to youth hockey is the fact that the G.O.A.L! program is completely free to its participants. About all that the families are asked to invest is a ride to the rink the four nights it is offered. Full hockey equipment, including skate rental, is provided free of charge.

In addition to the free equipment rental, participants are given a G.O.A.L! hockey jersey that is theirs to keep.

I'll pass on one word of advice, make sure your kid can skate and actually move a puck so he can get something out of this. Although it is for first time players, small kids get pushed to the side for the older better skilled players.

Nick enjoyed it as a 4 year old but I wish we would have waited.

That's really good to know trigg. My son, Alex, is only four and has only been on the ice once (same as me). He loved it, as did I, but neither of us were truly skating when we were finished.
