very few people pay... the majority of people you see with "season ticket holder" under their name didn't even pay for it, they won it off ek one way or another, and the rest are new to the internet

What's the trade?

Or he is going to say since he posted at 12:02am or whatever that tomorrow means August 21 lol now people will be punching his website for hits all day. And then come back there to complain when he doesn't have anything.
Apparently he has now claimed the trade fell through. So basically he once again received free hits from people curious. How this guy still has people gullible enough to believe his idiocy is beyond me. You would think his attempt to even insinuate Brodeur could be available would have been enough to warrant the realization he is a complete hack. Suppose ignorance is bliss and all...

No, he's still saying that the trade is coming. He'll say it for days, then abruptly stop talking about it and never mention it again.

ZERO chance of a trade happening....Eklund is just looking for hits on his website so he's going to involve all the Canadian teams in his rumors.

Soon there will be a post about the Habs making a trade!!

I don't get how people are still allowed to post Eklunds lies on here over and over again.

...it really wouldn't be. The Leafs need some good vets to help guide the development of the younger guys on the team.

Langkow is one of the best defensive centers in the league and can chip in 50-60 pts a year. Last season saw Langkow bruised and battered, but his injuries are coming along quite well from what we've heard in the media here in Calgary. Langkow would be a huge help for Bozak's game.

Dion and Daymond are also 'best buddies'.

Yeah, I was just curious whether "in the morning" to a West Coast team would take New York (NHL headquarters) time into consideration. But now that I think about it, the CBA and other league policies have EST written into their deadlines. So I guess I just answered my own question

5 pages and still no trade. Oh Eklund...

Got love how most of these threads start with "I know it's Eklund but..."

Yeah. I just view Eklund as a good way to stir up discussion about proposals etc. Nothing more than forum entertainment, which is all good in my books.

no thanks, contract is too big, age is too high, and injuries are too big of a concern

Why would the Leafs be interested in Langkow? Presumably the Flames would pick up a chunk of his brutal cap hit.

And he could be a 50-60 point guy if he's 100% healthy (an iffy proposition). But he's not really what a re-building team needs.

To CGY:
Kaberle
Erskine

To Toronto:
Fleishmann
Langkow
Moss
Finley

To Wash:
Sarich
Grabovski
Caputi or Hanson

CGY Gets: Kaberle, Erskin
CGY Gives: Sarich, Langkow, Moss

Why?
add Kaberle, which greatly improves their defense and offensive production, erskin just for D depth. Also gain much need cap space (3.6M) to push them back under the cap to start the season

Toronto Gives: Kaberle, Grabovski, Caputi/Hanson
Toronto Gets: Fleishmann, Langkow, Moss, Finley

Why? Kaberle needs to be moved (both for roster and conflict issues), Fleishmann steps in and challenges (takes) #1 center role. Langkow (trade dependent on him being physically ready to go) is much better fit for 3rd line center role with leafs, brings much needed veteran character to their top 9. Moss adds top 9 fwd depth/experience, Finley is massive/truculent D prospect.
Burke gets his return for Kaberle (top 6 player/prospect in fleishmann/finley), and swaps youth for experience in top 9.

Wash Gives: Fleishmann, Erskine, Finley
Wash Gets: Sarich, Grabovski, Caputi/Hanson

Why? add vet physical player with cup experience on D, Grabovski replaces Fleishmann and fits in next to Semin as 2nd line centre. Caputi/Hanson serves as call-up this year, replaces Knuble in top 6 next year.

works for all three teams cap-wise, and imo, value-wise, while addressing each teams immediate and/or future needs.

flame away

Disagree.

The Leafs need help developing their forwards. Noone on that team has a solid two way game. Langkow is a great 2 way forward and would be the perfect mentor.

Also, he's only signed for two years and would come cheap.

Why does HF still allow this guy to be posted as a credible source? I just don't get it.
