is this what you are assuming the lines are going to be?

Swap the top centers. Switch Foote and Quincey. Cumiskey Foote was a good pairing at times last year but are probably our 3rd pair. That is open to debate though.

Who?

I'll say my lines are the same as they were last year, except I think Shattenkirk makes the team out of camp, possibly even as a seventh defenseman like Sacco did a few times last season.

I'm thinking we'll see:

Galiardi - Stastny - Stewart
Mueller - Duchene - Hejduk
Yip - O'Reilly - Jones
McLeod - Porter - Winnik (With Winnik and Porter being interchangeable)

Hannan - Quincey
Cumiskey - Foote
Liles - Wilson

Anderson
Budaj

HQ was our top pairing the past year and don't see it changing this year. Pairing Cumiskey with Foote allows Cumiskey a bit more freedom and allows Foote to concentrate on just hurting people. We started to see the Liles/Wilson pairing in the playoffs, and Liles did pretty well in this pairing. Hopefully Wilson returns to Stevens-lite form and not post-concussion play.

Forwards imo (eventually):
Jones-Stastny-Stewart
Mueller-Duchene-Hejduk
Galiardi-O'Reilly-Yip
McLeod-Winnik-Porter
Koci

I will reserve judgment on the defense. I think Holos makes it and Shattenkirk starts in Lake Erie, but again, need to see how they perform in camp. I am also not sure if Wilson should automatically be granted a spot.

I'd keep Stastny as the number 1 centre and move the wingers around. These would be my lines.

Jones(until he gets hurt)-Stastny-Stewart
Mueller-Duchene-Hejduk
Gags-O'Reilly-Yip
Mcleod-Winnik-Stoa/Porter

Hannan-KQ
Liles-Wilson
Foote-one of Cumsikey/Shattenkirk/Holos

Yeah, Im not 100% sold on Wilson, he's a turn over machine and after he had the concussion problems he really got away from his game and became pretty useless.

Galiardi-Stastny-Stewart
Meuller-Duchene-Hejduk
Jones-O'Reilly-Yip
Porter-Winnik-McLeod
Koci

hopefully Jones comes out strong and we can switch him and gali...that would be a crazy shutdown line

Hannan-Quincey
Liles-Wilson
Cumiskey-Foote
Holos

(bottom 2 pairing don't really matter for order)

I think, ideally, Jones and O'Reilly will show they still have chemistry, Yip will continue to be that irritating, effective forward capable of chipping in some goals.

I'd like to see Yip with Stewart and Stastny, and Gali rejoining RoR and Jones to form that effective line we had last year.

Galiardi never played with O'Reilly and Jones. It was McLeod-O'Reilly-Jones that was the great third line until Jones got moved to the first line.

The options are limitless it seems, as we have lots of interchangeable parts in the top 9, but I'll give my guess.

I think Yip is more comfortable playing LW than Jones, as Yip did play LW quite a bit in the playoffs.

I think this is what we know will start out for sure:

______-Stastny-Stewart
Mueller-Duchene-Hejduk
______-O'Reilly-______
McLeod-Winnik-_______

Galiardi, Yip, and Jones fill out the 3 spots in the top 9, but I'm not sure where yet.

Porter, Mercier, Koci will battle it out for the 4th line spot most likely.

My guess is Gally will be given the spot with Staz and Stew until we see if Jones is completely healthy. Yip will play LW if he's with Jones on the third line.

Or we could go for complete balance between the four lines

Galiardi-Duchene-Yip
Stoa-Stastny-Stewart
Mueller-Porter-Hejduk
McLeod-O'Reilly-Jones

I would also like to see Yip get a shot at 1st line winger.

I don't think Hamilton gets enough credit. I'd like to see him get a chance on the top 2 lines...

I am down with that. I think we have a 1A-1B setup next year but for now the Staz line is still tops.

this is what it boils down to, although i'm sure we'll see some combos none of us thought of.. i WOULD like to see Staz and Mueller together just to see what would happen, but that will only happen in the case of slumps, so let's hope we don't see it
can the season just start already? i want to see what these guys can do!

This won't be how the season starts but I'd like to see them try this for the top 3 lines at some point, even though it'd put Hejduk on the wrong side:

Hejduk-Stastny-Stewart
Mueller-Duchene-Jones
Galiardi-O'Reilly-Yip

Really don't want to think about the D though

I think they should keep Mueller-Duchene-Hejduk line together, they all work real well together.
That's not to say however Jones can't work well with those two, or that Mueller can't work well on Stewy-Stastny line.
I don't doubt that we'll see line combo's like these for the upcoming season since Sacco likes to do a lot of line-experimenting (for better or for worse).
For the majority of the season I'd like to keep it:
Galiardi-Staz-Stew
Mueller-Duchene-Hejduk

Bottoms are up in the air, especially since I have my own opinion of Jones I'm sure none of you want to hear.

I wonder if the Hannan - Quincey defensive pairing might be broken up only because when Foote re-signed it was with an understanding that he'd be playing fewer minutes. I hope and expect to see Foote on the third pairing this coming year and while Cumiskey played well enough with Foote last year he should continue to get top four minutes. What does that leave the pairings?

Hannan - Liles
Quincey - Cumiskey
Foote - Wilson
