Who should the Isles pickup in Waiver draft?

I'd like to see them take a Defenseman like Baumgartner or Dykhuis
as a 6th Dman

Here's a bunch of players that caught my attention.

I know many of these players will not be available or pulled back as soon as a round is over. Also a good chance no players will exchange hands at all. Some of these players are in other countries or have been off a roster for a long time.

Still here is what I like for the Isles and Tigers if they want to make some claims on Friday. I'll also note our former players.

Mighty Ducks of Anaheim
Mike Mottau, D-Fomer Ranger prospect.
Joe Dipenta, D-Isn't he a young Thrasher prospect that was being hyped last season and scored against Isles in final weekend?

Buffalo Sabres
Jeremy Adduono, F-Last year with Tigers

Calgary Flames
Jamie McLennan, G-Former Islander.

Colorado Avalanche
D.J. Smith, -from Jonsson trade?

Dallas Stars
Steve Gainey, F -Want to know more, if possible?
Claude Lemieux, F-Too many years and miles, salary.

Detroit Red Wings
Derek King F-Yes, that Derek King, think is retiring?
Jamie Rivers D-Always passes from team to team, former Islander.
Curtis Joseph, G-Available to the team that pays, not here.

Edmonton Oilers
Steve Valiquette G-Bring him home to Bridgeport?

Florida Panthers
Todd Gill D-Not for Isles but a notable name.
Paul Laus, D-See Gill
Ivan Novoseltsev F-Now we find out if Milbury really wants him.

Wasn't it Czerkawski-Jonsson for Kvasha-Novaseltsev? Yikes.

Los Angeles Kings
Steve Kelly, F-Former Devil?
Pavel Rosa, F-Player from Palffy deal?
Milan Hnilicka, G-Was solid for Atlanta a year ago, good AHLer?

Minnesota Wild
Bill Muckalt, F-How's shoulder doin? Isles included him for Yashin?

Montreal Canadiens
Karl Dykhuis, D-Too old?
Eric Fichaud, G-Tigers have Dubie and Stirling.

Nashville Predators
Ray Schultz, D-Former Isle and Tiger.

New Jersey Devils
Jiri Bicek, F-Like this player would not be bad addition.
Craig Darby, F-From Muller trade.
Ray Giroux, D-If Tigers need a vet on defense and lose one this has been a player rumored to make Devils, get him back.
Steve Kariya, F-Very good depth player, Tigers have brother Martin and you never know if that will make Paul interested in Isles..LOL
Scott Clemmensen, G-If Isles can get him do it and do not look back.

New York Rangers
Pavel Bure, F-Injuries and money, no.
Paul Healey, F-A little surprising.
John Jakopin, D-Got some hype among Ranger fans?
Ronald Petrovicky-With that salary will be taken, not by Isles, not a bad Chabada replacement but would have to play here.

Ottawa Senators
Dennis Bonvie, F-Isles have Godard.

Philadelphia Flyers
Chris Therien, D-How has he been playing?
Neil Little, G-Need Tiger fans for this one?

Phoenix Coyotes
Brian Savage, F-Has been on waivers before.
Brian Boucher, G-Coyotes wisely do not expose Bierk.

St. Louis Blues
Aris Brimanis, D-Former Isle.
Steve Martins, F-Works very hard with speed, Isles have a few too many like him and has been here before.
Daniel Tkaczuk, F-Thought was released by Blues, former Tiger.

San Jose Sharks
Todd Harvey, F-Concussions?

Tampa Bay Lightning
Sheldon Keefe, F-One of the players offered for Hamrlik in Tampa rumors this summer?
Shane Willis, F-A little surprising.

Toronto Maple Leafs
Travis Green, F-A little surprising, salary, work ethic, production?
Robert Reichel, F-See Green

Vancouver Canucks
Johan Davidsson, F-Johan is in Europe scoring.
Dallas Eakins, D-Former Isle.
Chris Nielsen, F-Former Isle.

I really like the idea of Chris Therien.I think Therien's overall game and expierience as well as playing against the same division could be a nice fit in the depth position on defense for the Isles. With his contract though I would expect that they would have to cut payroll(ie.Timander and/or Chow)in order for that to happen.

take no one. i like Dan Bylsma as a solid 4th liner, but i don't think we really need that.

maybe MM gets his wish of picking up Ivan Novoseltsev ... then have him paired with Yash and Kvasha

Per Blitzkrieg's post, Isles should not and likely will not take anyone. If Timander and/or Chow are claimed, they may have some flexibility, but otherwise, no ($).

There is no forward on the current list worthy of picking up. And besides, where in the world would that player fit in? Isles are hoping to lose a forward in the draft.

Simpson and Therrien are names that stick out, but at $1.4 and $2M+ respectively, highly unlikely. Very good chance they will be gone, but NYI's choice anyway.

Trott's - you can add DyKuis to that list of d-man you mentioned. Liek you said, too much salary for the Isles to take on for a 5th-6th. We are trying to dump Timanders 1.2/1.4 mil.

This raises the question, where does Timander go? TOR, BOS, PHO, WASH, TB, COL ???

He does have an attractive salary for a 5th/6th d-man, just not for NYI.

Well, honestly, at this moment he is no higher than 7th on the depth chart, which makes his price even less appealing to NYI. That is, until an injury occurs, he would be sitting in the pressbox or playing in Bridgeport....and costing NYI his full salary either way.

I think he'll be claimed, numerous possible suitors. Not sure about Czerkawski.

I could see a team like Atlanta taking Czerkawski. Heatley is a right wing.
