Maybe Jonh Leclaire to see if he has anythign left. Heard he has been working out and would like an invite. Competition is good and regardless if the roster is so called set it doesnt hurt to invite a few people. Turn over every rock.
Cheechoo is someone that couldnt hurt. While i doubt he wants to play in ahl, Mcgratton for the phantoms would be good to protect some of those young guys.
John LeClair was my favorite, but the dude is 41 years old. He couldn't possibly have anything left.
That said, it'd be cool if we could somehow sign him to an ATO or something (is that even possible?) just so he could play a preseason game or two and then retire officially with us. It always bothered me how unceremoniously he left the game in Pitts. This is presuming that he is, in fact, working out and trying to get into the game again, which I just can't see being true.
As for some of the other names mentioned, I like the idea of adding Torres.
Guys like Nolan Torres and Artyukhin I would prefer to just sign. Especially Nolan. Maybe offer one of them a contract pending how he does in training camp.

Couldn't find an appropriate thread to post this in and didn't see it posted anywhere....Flyers and Caps rookie scrimmage, year 4...September 16, 3pm at Kettler (Caps practice facility), Arlington, VA
I'd throw try-out contracts to Fedotenko, Ortmeyer, Artyukhin, Park, Nolan, Modin, Dawes and Torres hoping one would accept(doubtful) and hope that we could work out a way to get a 3rd line RW that deserves to be in the top 9.
Sorry, Garth Snow has already invited every UFA under the sun to try out for the Isles...
We really don't have any room for more players.
Of that list, I'd love to see Raffi Torres as a Flyer, but he made too much last year and is probably asking for more or the same (or at least that's the bad advice his agent is giving him).
I was always a fan of Rusty too, but we really don't have room and he slipped a bit last year.
no one. I want the kids we signed Testwuide,Holmstrom ect ect to come in and push for a roster spot. someone that can push that retard Shelley to the AHL where he belongs
With Betts, Carter and Leino all coming off of injuries and, according to rumors, not ready for play at this time, there is an opportunity for a player or three to get a shot coming out of camp. Most likely these guys will come from within the organization-Nodl, Testuide, Popov ,etc. If the team was going to reach out for someone, they could have re-signed Asham but passed on him.
How about Tim Kennedy? I was a bit surprised he was let go by Buffalo. A bit on the smallish side of course, and we have a few forwards who are that as well already, but I like his game.
I wouldn't be too opposed to give K. Wellwood a chance if he's still around actually. I watched quite a lot of Canucks games last season and he was pretty good, I know he's got a bad reputation on this board though.

Then his brother wouldn't have to live in an apartment with 3 other guys, either.
I would love Artyukhin to play here. The guy is a monster with some skill. I'd love to see him on this team. I heard toward the end of last season that he was all but gone to Russia, but I can't find anything on that. I googled it and nothing really came up. Anyone have any real sources as to where he is? Still, though, a trade would have to be made or an injury would have to occur for anyone to make this team that isn't on the roster already.
