rofl selanne hitting 40+ and our leading goal scorer.. that would be awesome

Teemu scored at a 41 goal pace last year in the 54 games he played. There's no reason to be rolling on the floor laughing at the idea of him potting 40 in a full season.

Though it says 80 points for Getz if you actually add his goals and assists it comes out to 90.

Hiller would be interesting to see up there!

It will be his first season as the clear starter, and his defense will be quite different from last season.

1. He has lead the team in GPG and/or goals every season except 08-09 since the lockout

2. He led the team in GPG by a wide margin last season and was 8th in the league despite playing injured.

3. He was on pace for 41 goals last season despite playing injured (broken hand, broken jaw, shoulder)

Why would you be rolling on the floor laughing if he was the leading goal scorer of the Ducks this coming season or if someone thought he would be? He IS the most likely candidate to lead this team in goals

If healthy, Selanne can easily score 40. The problem is its a very big IF. Selanne has not played more than 65 games in his last 3 seasons and thus has not scored more than 27 goals in any of those seasons. With that in mind, 25-30 goals would have been a more safe prediction.

Tell us how many goals Selanne will score at even strength without Getz and Perry as mates ..

Well he was on pace for 20 last season... So i guess it would be around the same number as Perry(21 in 82gp) or Ryan (24 in 81gp).

Considering Selanne had alot less EV TOI per game than Perry or Ryan that makes him pretty much as efficent scorer on EV as those two.

edit. last season:
Perry needed 68 EV minutes for a goal
Selanne needed 57 EV minutes for a goal
Ryan needed 52 EV minutes for a goal

on a line with Kariya Koivu and Selanne, I don't see why Teemu shouldn't be able to post 20+ even strength goals.

I REEALLLLLY want Selanne to score 41 goals too... (that would put him one ahead of Jagr) but come on, let's not jinx it.

If Selanne can post 20 even strength goals, I see no reason why he won't post 20+ PPG's if he plays close to 80 games. he scored 14 last season!

but until then, I just hope Teemu Stays healthy, and the ducks fill their defensive holes, so that our good offence isn't in vain.

I think Perry takes another step forward not a step back.

as do I. I see him and getz having career years and ryan scoring more goals but the same or less points if he is on the second line like i hope.

Kariya is more of a playmaker these days and him on the first line would give getzlaf more of an opportunity to shoot.

getzlaf: 30 goals

ryan and perry: 35-40 goals

So do I. I want to see the same Perry that stepped up when Getz went down last season.

Player status: Joffrey Lupul will miss training camp and likely reamin out of the lineup until mid-November due to lingering back and blood related problems.

Perry needs to get way more consistent. He only scored 14 goals in the last 64 games. (18 goals per 82gp pace)

Yes, he`s in pace all the time, but the thing that he wasn`t able to do that since 07 is a big thing to.
Hes getting older every year and that won`t help in injuries.

Trust me, i will be more than happy if he hits 40+ goals, but we shouldn`t take that for granted to.

---
About Getz, Perry having career years - with this D and still not having checking line, this is not so possibly to. They`re 25 and they can`t just progress all the time.
More likely i see them having career years in the season before their contract expires, they will be 27/28 and motiveted to get big paycheck.
Also our D should look better then and hopefully will have a checking line. But a lot can change in Anaheim till that day comes, so that is just poor speculation.

Single + i see next season, is that there will be no Olympics. To be honest, i think they were the reason we didn`t got at least 8th seed.

If we managed to get 8th seed, i`m pretty sure we would beat the Sharks again. Even unexpierenced Avs weren`t far from that.

...ahh, dreaming.

I don't think anyone is taking 40+ from him granted, but he is the most likely candidate from this team to hit it.

edit. and it's not like he's having any old guy injuries.
