i am thinking i would like to see this sort of lineup

dumont-lombardi-hornqvist
kostitsyn-legwand-erat
sullivan-wilson-ward
smithson-goc-anderson
xtra:tootoo/belak

defensively responsible on all lines as well as some speed an playmaking...although dumont wont shoot the puck , so not sure that helps hornqvist or not, but man am i ready for the season.

not sure who our backup is yet...thinking they are going to bring up a rook for it

I like:

Sullivan - Lombardi - Hornqvist
Kostitsyn - Legwand - Erat
Ward - Wilson - Dumont
Smithson - Goc - Tootoo
Andersson - Belak

But I really don't think anyone can guess line combinations accurately until we see who shows up to camp first...

Poile has really stacked the team with depth at all positions. By my count we have 21 forwards, 11 defensemen, and 4 goalies coming to camp that could play in the NHL this season. Competition will be intense just to make the roster, let alone figure out which line you're playing on...

Yay. We've got Hornqvist!

Yeowch though. That's at least 500k per year more than I expected. I expected 2.75 for a one year deal and less if it was longer. I think he'll be worth it because banging around and pouncing on pucks doesn't just come and go, it's his style. But everything went perfectly for him last year. I don't expect 30 goals to be the norm although he may get it some years. But if he can bang in 25 a year he'll be worth it. My main worry is can he stay healthy with his playing style? He's going to take a beating.

That was my concern, too. How many games does he miss in the next three years due to the way he plays. Between the beating he'll take from the goalie and defenseman in front of the net and the pucks being launched at him everyone including Weber it just seems like he'll HAVE to have injuries.
