Here's an obscure trivia question: The Quebec Nordiques were an original WHA franchise, like the Jets. However, the Nordiques were relocated from which city (they were part of that city on paper only)?

He may not count as a Jet, but he definitely counts as a Winnipeg draftee.

There aren't too many left... you may have named them all.

It was San Fran... and possibly (?) why the San Jose Sharks are called the 'Sharks'... I think that's what the San Francisco team was going to be called.

Correct. I'm not sure about the San Jose connection, however.

The Los Angeles team was nicknamed the Sharks.

Why speechless? He's an RFA and has had modest production to kick start his career. Fair contract from both ends.

Willie Mitchell has landed in Los Angeles. 2-year, $7M deal. He was a fantastic anchor defenseman in Vancouver; hopefully, for his sake, the concussion issue is behind him.... though, the last year reminded me of the Primeau situation.

Well, I guess I need to modify my prediction that the Lightning will squeak into the playoffs based on their solid off-season moves...

I'm looking at their defense, and that isn't a defense that makes the playoffs. I think in April, Dan Ellis is going to be wishing he took whatever we offered him.

Are they going to sign Jim Vandermeer next?

Devils board is saying this guy was right on the 17 year deal and was first to report it a few months back.

http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/devil...V76EEm2HBzCUyH

If his reputation holds true, Devils may be signing Ilya pretty soon.

Having to watch Randy Jones and Jaroslav Modry on the same team at the same time was excruciating.

I'm guessing that after large amounts of drinking, the brain cells containing Modry were the first to go. Makes sense too.

He will be out and ready mid season

Would be a good #1 for Flyers on a playoff run over what you got now

It was only a little over a year ago he was playing in Western Conference Finals

just saying,,,,,,,, It wouldn't hurt

Those were dark days. But we did go on a nice playoff run with both of them in the lineup.
