This. The fact that Engels thinks we a are foolish for not being interested, infact makes him the fool.
Our wingers >>>>>> Pittsburghs.
Ya but Pittsburgh will always be on a position where they can get good wingers pretty cheap because of their stanley cup contender position. I don't understand why they didn't go for i.e Frolov who signed for just 3 mil

Because 3M is too much? Before the Asham signing (700k) we had a bit under 2.2M in cap space with only 6 d-men. Looking at the makeup of the Pens and Shero's decisions this offseason it's pretty clear that we chose not to spend our budget on wingers.
The more of I think of Engles the more annoyed I get.
He's a nobody "journalist" who writes on one of the worst hockey blogs in the world. He panders to the majority on every single position, and wavers as much as the "french media/rabid fans" that he often fingers outs. His 10 Questions bit is old and often very, very obvious and if it weren't for Halak/Price he would have had nothing to write about.
Not once did he mention anything about Jacques Martin's HOCKEY SYSTEM. MathMan can write a better article in his sleep, and I disagree with MathMan often. Engles doesn't use stats, he doesn't even use facts or intelligent guess - he just types out fluff.
"Nobody likes the Ramo/Desjardins deal"
"If the Canadiens are not interested in Guerin, they're foolish"

GET A GRIP!
the hell are you talking about. Engels is one of the better bloggers out there. He's an enjoyable read which is why I'm quite surprised about him saying this.

maybe billy wants to sign with the habs but doesn't know how to approach it, so he tells Mr. Engels to publicize...

The Dejardins and Guerin articles are not very good. Usually he is a pretty good read though.
I have to agree with you here, usually Engles is one of my favorite columnists to read, but as of late his articles are seriously lacking. I mean I think the Ramo vs Desjardins article was almost 100% *****ing about how everyone hates it.
One blogger whom imo is underrated is Kamal Panesar also blogging at www.habsaddict.com hes a great read, and he gives a refreshing view on things sometimes. Steve Hindle isn't so bad either.
One thing is for sure though, Engles better get his **** together.
Engels is alright for recaps and news, but terrible for armchair GM analysis.
Just compare his analysis to the Desjardins-Ramo trade (didn't understand it and says noone in Montreal likes it) compared to say Matthias Brunet's article explaining it very rationally.
Brunet is setting high standards for hockey journalism and I'm finding it hard to read anyone else without being disappointed.

I'm a Kuklas Korner fan...I find the stuff posted there is usually of pretty high quality.
