Problem is finding said role and acting it out. He was initially supposed to bring some speed to the flanks and help out offensively with the transition and flow. He doesn't have the skill to do that. Then he settled down into a grinder-type role, but he's not tough enough to do that. He found his niche as a pest who actively used his stick and elbows to make his presence known. He's a fiesty forechecker and can probably, with appropriate ice time, pot 15g.

I would hardly call it a fantastic signing, especially with the glut of similar players both stylistically and price/role. But not bad

I have no idea who his center was...Squishy might be better served at answering that question. But from reading updates during the season from Squish and other Pack regulars it didn't sound like he was having a good season. Sure things could change but to go from a guy having a tough time in the AHL to a regular NHL player in 3 months? Not likely.

I think you're a little off base here. The coaches jobs are to work with the players given to them. I would hope they were working him him.

I'm not sure how that correlates to them giving him leeway.

Boyle doesn't deserve to be on this roster next year, and that will most likely show. When that happens, well, those same coaches will be working with his replacement.

disagree 100%

Christensen is better suited to play 1st line Center than Dubi is.

Dubinsky is not that great of a center. Not one that I would have any comfort playing on my top line.

His hockey sense off the wing is so much higher than it is manning the center position.

Dubi may be the better overall player, but EC is a better offensive talent than Brandon is and EC is better at the playmaking aspects of the game that are needed from your #1 center.

Neither is a great option for the #1 job, but if I absolutely had to choose one or the other for my #1 center spot, EC would be that player.

10 out of 10 times.

Brian Boyle's size is not relevant in any discussion. He does not use it. Therefore he could be 9 foot 10 inches tall, it does not matter.

He's wasting his time.

He needs to find a book or a coach that can help him grow a set and play the game, consistently, the way a big man with limited skills should play.

Mr. Softee has no place on this team

I will enjoy saying that. He's likely cheap but yea I have no clue where the heck he is going to play

Sather likely has something else up his sleeve

still would love getting a C for Gaborik if at all possible. They have excess Forwards now so we will see
Haha, I love it, a fellow wrestling fan...

Too bad he's not Mr. Kennedy anymore.... it's Mr. Anderson :-(

......Kennneeeddyyyyyyyyyyyy

But, in regards to the signing, I love it. Competition for the 3rd/4th lines. This kid has a ton of potential, speed and determination. I personally hope he makes the team and pushes someone out, such as a Boyle... is Kennedy a winger?

No but seriously it's a w/e move. Doesn't hurt and likely won't help much either

Frolov - Christensen - Gaborik
Dubinsky - Anisimov - Zuccarello-Aasen
Prospal - Drury - Callahan
Kennedy - Avery - Prust
Boogaard

I doubt movement is finalized though.

He had a better rookie season than Anisimov.

Another point, I know all this signings and moves aren't major, but, I LOVE the flexibility and depth this team has right now. I know none of these players will be 40 goal 90 pt players, but it allows the best of the best for almost every role to come through.

I know Sean has played some C but I doubt he's a full time capable solution. That said, I like those lines except I'd switch Dubi and Frolov.

Good point... Should make the guys work their ***** off and earn it.

Hopefully, too, it gives them a spark to continue playing for something knowing they can be scratched - especially with Tortsie behind the bench.

I don't see him sitting either.

He's going to average 5-6 minutes a game and will play in 85% of the seasons games.

You don't sign this guy to sit him.

Good luck with him at center. His defensive lapses that happened on the wings will be magnified x56 with him playing down the middle. Keep him on the wing and let him be a pest

So for centers we have:
Drury
Christensen
Boyle
Anisimov
Kennedy

Looks like Prospal will be playing wing for sure. My guess is that Boyle and Kennedy will battle for the 4th line spot.
