At this point, if we want a somewhat offensive line, he's our best best unless Pacioretty starts producing some offense.

I like Boyd-Eller-Lapierre and Moen-Pyatt-White combinations. I think that Boyd and Eller should play together because they are the two best offensive players in our bottom six and their effectiveness will diminish if they have no offensive linemates.
Couldn't agree more!

I think the top 6 will start as most of us expect. We will eventually see some other combinations as the lines always change during a season. But, from the start I think it will be this :

Cammalleri-Plekanec-Kostitsyn
Pouliot- Gomez-Gionta

For the bottom 6, well I believe Eller will be given all the chances in the world to earn that 3rd line C spot. I think for the other spot (I see Darche as the 13th Forward), baring any big surprise, it will be between Pacioretty and White. So depending on which one it is I think those could be the lines :

Pacioretty-Eller-Lapierre
Moen-Boyd-Pyatt

or

Boyd-Eller-Lapierre
Moen-Pyatt-White

I'd be fine with any of these combinations.

This is cool actually!

It would bring some weight in the trio.

The problem is that he doesn't skate as fast as the others... Pouliot fits more Gomez style... Although, AK could really well complete in the background. They tried a bit last year and as I remember, it didn't fit that well... no chemistry. Worth another try!

Plek - Cam would do magic with another young fast rookie such as Eller or even Desharnais.

I think people dismiss Pacioretty too quickly. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him makes it out of camp.

Not both, just one of them. If not, who do you think is gonna take that last spot?

I just think for the bottom 6 we should give Pyatt a shot on the 3rd line. This season he seemed to always be at the right spot at the right time for goals just couldn't score and maybe it had something to do with confidence. I'd play him over Lapierre on the 3rd line with Boyd and Eller to see what he can do since we all pretty much know what to expect from lapierre

Here is what our site the Canadiens lines will be for opening night barring any injury.

Opening season lineup

So there have been a few Habs fans saying White will most likely be in the lineup instead of Darche but other then that its fairly close.

Is it close, are the lines pretty close to what you all think it will look like after training camp and pre season?

Who might surprise and do you think anyone will dissapoint in camp?

Maybe a forward. I don't want to see Gorges on the powerplay

I hope Eller won't be playing with Moen and Lapierre ; It would be pretty much impossible for him to put some points on the board with wingers like that.

On the D, why play our two only right-handed defensemen (subban O'byrne) together? I expect PK to play with Hamrlik like in the last playoffs.

Cammalleri plays LW (Flip with Kostitsyn)

You have Gill playing RD - not likely.

You have a right handed defender (O'byrne) playing the left side with a left handed defender (Gorges) - although Gorges does play the right side more often than not.

Without Markov

Hammer - Subban
Gill - Gorges
Spacek - O'byrne

With Markov

Markov - Spacek
Hammer - Subban
Gill - Gorges
O'Byrne

I agree that white and Pac have the best chance to end up on the line up. Earlier I put White in a post. But for first night, I'd say: a rookie who had great training camp (see the long list possible) or Darche.

I think they're gonna be really hesitant to have Patches make the team when camp breaks, regardless of how good he looks. I see them forcing Max to establish himself in the AHL first and then if he continues to look good, bring him up once injuries hit.

Not only are Subban and O'bryne both young players, they're both right handed shots.

Hammer - Subban
Spacek - O'bryne.

I agree. I don't see the point in bringing him up otherwise. If he plays like say, Logan Couture did last year, and there are key injuries, than bring him up. Maxwell didn't do much with the Habs last year, but even he has proved way more in the AHL than Patches has. Honestly, i'm just hoping he plays a full and productive season in the A this year, and maybe gets a late season callup.
